Based in this I am guessing shorter and more direct then a Jeep. Having never drive a 3 pedal jeep I don't know what that means

You could also get an extended shift knob. The throws on my track car are short, but the knob is placed higher for ergonomics.

Used to drive a truck that when I went into 5th you had to kind of curl your wrist to coax it into gear. Interesting only because the only time I used the clutch was when I was taking off from a stop. Taught my daughter to drive a stick on my F250. Long throw on that as well. Loved it. She now prefers a stick, can drive anything. I like my I wanted the manual, she wanted the auto. We compromised, and are getting the auto. She does not need to know that it is part of the squatch package and 2.7 engine. wife and I want to keep my wife. She thinks she won the battles, and I have no intention of letting her know I won the war....?...

Drove a '20 GT a few weeks ago, and if the clutch/trans is anything like the Mustangs, it's a few simple mods away from Greatness

Wonder if I'll get another handwritten letter from Steeda next year?

Iā€™m guessing itā€™s a pretty short throw. Shorter than a T18 or a ZF. Given it is raised and the transmission is up in the body a bit, itā€™s likely to be decently short.
It's cable actuated, not directly connected...
And all OEM manuals have crazy long throws ?

hmm. Never thought of cable actuated. It will be shorter than what Iā€™m used to (dash to seat).

Have a short throw in my STi, but donā€™t care about the Bronco.....Iā€˜m just excited to be rowing my own gears in a 4x4 again! Last manual 4x4 was an 85 Toyota pickup.

I wonder how the ergonomics of the seat cushion will work out. It's hard to describe, but, in some vehicles the seat is too high off the floor for comfortable clutching -- when I push in the clutch, the front edge of the seat digs into my thighs and sometimes the kick panel below the steering wheel hits my shins. I test drove a manual Subaru Forester in the late 00s with the intent of buying one, but the seat issue was prominent and I abandoned the idea.

No problems with my 3rd gen Tacoma, but that might be because the Tacoma seat is very low to the floorpan so your legs are stretched out with less flex at the knees than a taller seat.

I got to sit and row the gears in the 7MT BL 4D displayed at my local dealership earlier this week. Throws are a bit longer than the TR3650 5MT in my S197 Mustang, but not as much longer as you might think. Itā€™s much tighter than any MT truck Iā€™ve ever driven, so thatā€™s a good thing.

I was able to row thru the gears yesterday and my local dealers Bronco Event.

It's (to me) more of an Automotive than Truck feel.
In other words..... if Automotive Sports Car was a 1 and the average 2021MY Work Truck was a 10, I'd say that the Broncos would be around 4 to 5 on the scale.

Yes, "feel" is subjective..... and it felt Good To Me! :giggle:
Now... the 7MT just needs to be mated to the 2.7L ;)

Canā€™t be any worse than the 1.5ā€™ throw from first to second in my ā€˜73 Bronco with a NP435 gearbox!

The good thing about cable-actuated shifters is that you are usually only like $50 worth of bronze bushings away from much more direct shift feel (assuming the OEM bushings are rubber/plastic). I thought my GTI was too light and detached, but bronze shift bushings made it nearly perfect (not rifle bolt precise like a Honda S2000, but very good). Install was like 15 minutes with no special tools.

I'm curious what the aftermarket does to the Bronco 7MT.

Would love for B&M to make a unit for these. I prefer a direct shifter (VW is a good comparison for how the shifter feels). Needs to be more notchy.
