Ford should fired damn Webusto and get somebody that can actually produce to make the tops. That dipshit company is going to be responsible for those of us that ordered just hours into reveal to wait until next year. This is horse shit.

Exactly, but the last time I brought that fact up, it was deleted. Why can't we address one of the many elephants in the room?
Because a bunch of yahoos on a Ford forum can't fix it.

40 a day, 5 day work week, gives us 35 days to get the FE's done. After all it is all about immediate gratification, right?
I think you mean 35 weeks (175 Days) not days to produce 7,000 tops. If production is only 40 per day, that would mean the only 2021 Broncos with MIC tops are FE's and the last one rolls off the line about December 3rd.

Unfortunately the bottleneck is going to be Webasto producing MIC tops. Currently they can only produce up to 40 in a day and that’s only on a good day 😆.
I wonder why... perhaps the chip shortage is delaying some specialized machinery used for mass production.

Plot twist, the third shift is during the time that the plant is closed anyways.

"Great news! we added 50% more capacity to the 0% we had, and it gave us zero!"

There we go. Yeah, I have been saying I have a really bad feeling that the 2021 yr run will be FEs, a ton of soft tops, priority builds, demo builds, and a very light sprinkling of hard tops. It seems like they are betting on things opening up during COVID to increase production. Which is why June is an abysmal month for hard tops according to Ford. The math is telling us that webasto need to increase production by 1,000% (10x). They are trending at a 130 month production run for all converted orders and need to be at 13 months.

That's because the Gov is paying people so much to sit home no one wants to work, we have the same issue out here. Hundreds of jobs paying $17-21 an hour going unfilled because people are making that much at home.
The government isn't paying people 21 a hour to stay at home, where do you guys come up with this nonsense?

People would rather get paid $600+ per week to sit home than to EARN $20 an hour and with fed kicking in the extra $300 a week or whatever it is now that's what it is. Production will continue to crawl until people get off the unemployment teet.

Ford isn’t hiring a 3rd shift without ensuring suppliers can deliver parts. MAP had 3 shifts when the expedition was rolled out in the late 90s. 10k profit per vehicle, that plant got whatever it wanted to crank out production. MAP literally made 1/2 the profit of FoMoCo then. Ford will pour resources into the suppliers to make sure they can deliver.

4th quarter? So basically the end of the year 😅. For some reason I doubt Ford will have their shit together by then.

This reminds me of stories my Dad told, post War, when cars would come out with wooden bumpers and other crazy substitutes for whatever part was holding up production.

I just dont get it. If these numbers are true, there is a HUGE problem with webasto. 40 a day is a joke. 2021 run is 65k builds. If 80% are hard tops, thats 52k hard tops over 6 months (8,667/mo). Webasto is trending at 880/mo (again, calculating to exactly a 10th of the demand - funny the other way i calc'ed it for the full bronco run into 2022 also implied 1/10th). Now do they ramp up in a couple months and triple their production? Very possible, but even then, its nowhere close. If webasto is the lynch pin, how would ford just sit back? Wouldnt they throw money at the problem to resolve it and figure it out later in a lawsuit?
