The OSBP thread was moved to purgatory based on the title. But I think the premise of the thread was to discuss the color and it's application to the Bronco. Anyway, in the thread is a link to the FB post where the videos are. If someone can figure out how to extract the videos to here, it would be appreciated. Chris Tess who is the creator has said that wants the information shared (with proper credit, of course).

Is Lightning Blue in between VB and Atlas? That's what my eyes tell me, but I'm not a color expert....

Thinking more on it, it's possible that MY22 gets Peak Blue Metallic instead of Yellowstone as Cyber Orange is already in the lineup. Then for MY23 we see Cyber Orange dropped and Yellowstone come in for a special edition. That would be a substantially stronger play from Ford than having Yellowstone and Cyber Orange together. The melty crayon effect probably overpowers color-logic right now with sales.
I agree it would be odd for Ford to add Yellowstone and have CO as well. Levine's post way back suggest CO was going away. However the tea leaves since (touch up paint websites and the 2022 leak the other day) suggest CO stays.

I sort of assumed Yellowstone (and Peak) to be an Heritage color, and also assumed Heritage wil now slip to 2023 due to white top slippage. So maybe your thinking is correct.

I would also imaging there is some "load balancing" between popular ordered Bronco colors, and typical dealer stock / retail ordered Ranger colors. Which would be why something like Iconic Silver would stick around.

As for Ford, they really should get the MY22 color pallet out so people can change their orders accordingly to stay in MY21 if they really have to have an expiring color.

@Rick Astley Once again I have been "Rick rolled". The amount of logic is stagering, and I appreciate it my friend. If I hadn't made a deal with the wife that she could pick the color of our Bronco for my ability to get some aftermarket wheels and tires right out of the box, I would go with the new green if it came to fruition. But alas, I cannot renig on the deal. :)

Great points and logic!

There could also be an issue that the tri-coats have greater materials costs and Ford probably has a lot of unused Cyber Orange to go through since MY21 was low-volume, thus keeping it around.

I would like to see the Peak (or anything other than Dark Matter Gray) get a shot over Yellowstone, especially since Cactus & A51 are melty colors. It's conceivable Peak could be the tri-coat replacement for Rapid Red. We just don't know anything about it's paint properties to speculate.

As for getting MY22 out early for the purposes of informing customers that have MY21 VIN's. Putting on my FoMoCo cap; I can't imagine that's too much on the radar as opposed to fulfilling the orders that customers have made and for which you have already communicated you're building their rig. Like working with the IRS, sometimes "logic" and "realities of working with massive organizations" don't align. But it would be cool if they reached out, I just don't see it happening. After all, those customers did make their order of what they wanted and now you're building it.

Please do share, what did she pick out? I don't recall hearing this before.

Would it make you feel better if I showed you the only info I could find on Peak Blue? It's probably not accurate, but she might like it. Peak Blue color speculation image

@Rick Astley Thanks for the thoughtful write up.

One thought with a pineapple pizza sticker as a prize. Put together a poll with say 20 colors to choose from, plus write-ins and everyone gets to vote up to 12 times. Anyone who hits the 12fecta gets a pizza sticker plus bragging rights.

Supposedly Atlas vs Velocity Blue
It's been a while since I've seen Atlas Blue in person, but it reminds me of Lightning Blue in this video, but with less red in it - Lightning Blue can have a hint of bluish-purple in the right lighting, which I'm not seeing in this video - more of a pure blue.

I think LB is actually a bit darker than Atlas. See above.

I'll do the poll, you do all the admin work?

Actually I thought about doing a poll and asking for others opinions but frankly, it would devolve like all the MY21 paint threads into "i want this for no reason" without much care behind what is possible. Suppose it was that realization that drove the info on MAP's painting capacity and materials.

Hahahahahahaha! got me! priceless:ROFLMAO:
Did any girls like it? Did you share it? 🤪

With the backlog, I'm shocked they're removing any colors - seems like a way to further disappoint reservation holders (i.e. "my color was dropped after I ordered it"). Adding additional colors/something like green, I get, but removing any is surprising to me given the overall launch situation.

Watching the Q&A from yesterday with the Ford guys, it did sound like some colors are indeed on the way out, though - I feel like they would have gone out of their way to assuage fears by saying "we're keeping 2021 colors, plus others" if they were doing that, but instead we got a line of '22 colors coming soon. I have to imagine any that are removed will be replaced with similar colors.
