Now Windshield hold after chip hold? Anyone else hear this?

Did a search and didn't see anything. I got a call back from a nice lady at the Ford Executive Offices today saying that I have been moved off of "Chip Hold" and now "Windshield Hold" ? And that it will now be towards the end of July! She said she didn't know what windshield hold meant and of course to reach out to my dealer because they know more than Ford.... as usual.

Trying to avoid the usual ranting about my Family's history being Ford employees and that I was a parts supplier. I avoided complaining until they passed the 90 day window they promised in January/February... "but it won't really take 90 days because we're really moving through the backlog" now wait until July but it won't take that long either.... Just curious if anyone else is getting this excuse now. BTW Safelite replaced the windshield of the Focus I have to borrow from my mother in the Kroger parking lot last month while I got my groceries... Maybe @Ford should hire them??

Probably because people are cracking windshields left and right and needing replacements!

JK....well, maybe!

*Personally, I am getting the Xpel windshield protection film put on currently...it will prevent most of the chips and cracks (unless you are careening though a boulder shower).

LOL... Let's hope for everyone still waiting sake that they are not breaking windshields while they are installing the computer chips so many of us have been waiting months for.

Congrats on your Wildtrak another person that placed their order after me and received all the things I wanted and was told that I couldn't have, but is driving her Bronco while I am still waiting!

Love it! I have no doubt that they are doing the best they can at something, but they're not doing anything for those of us who have been waiting in the mountain for some progress or at least some honest information.

I forgot the Ford lady that answers here told me I didn't get my Bronco in January because there was an earthquake or fire at the chip plant in Japan in February... a month after I sold my F250 and cancelled 2 months remaining of my time at the beach house in FL to sit in Indiana waiting for my Bronco they said was built and I would have by the end of the week now 4 months ago

I get it, we are all sick of reading complaints and many if not most are also waiting. I come here less because of all the complaints. But where else can you vent? Complain to Ford, they don't seem to care, figure out ways to make the BS they are creating more public, It should make a good news story but no one outside of here seems to care.

Most of what I propagate is that things suck right now for the entire methodology of globally sourced JIT manufacturing across all brands. There is and has always been a massive risk with this system but only now has it come to bear. That, somehow, this forum focuses that to be "Ford sucks!" seems a gross simplification and that attitude is about as helpful as taste buds on your butthole.

Soooooooo, there's not much you can do about it. And the human aspect is likely to be a ton of burnt out employees scrambling every day to do their job (while the managers and executives get bonuses and nice vacations).

But I get it, every time I point out these realities of the world I get told by people on this forum that I, nor anyone else has any right to "defend Ford". (even though it's not to Ford's defense)

I think this means they are trying to figure out how to plug those chips, that were on backorder, into the windshield. Once Ford engineering gets back to them with the procedure, you'll get your Bronco. 🤣

Don't forget....... Ford's fault!

Well of course... Didn't Henry invent sand? I'd call and ask, but I know they would just tell me to contact my dealer because they always have the most up to date information
