OEM/Bestop canvas bikini top AKA the popcorn popper

I installed the canvas bikini top, It's great at slow speeds or stooped.

Once you get above 35moh ot sounds like I have a popcorn popper in the bback seat. The sides of the top slap the roll bar/roof support so bad it's like a popcorn popper.

Has anyone had success modifying this top with a few more tie down points. I can't believe this is the best they came up with at Ford??

Is the mesh top that bad as well?

I have a Jtops and it is good up over 80MPH no flapping. It stays on when installing the hard top or soft top.

I don't think adding more buggie cords will help.

How well does it keep the sun off you, my bald head needs all the help it can get. The Arizona sun still beats on you til around November. Which was why I went with the canvas top originally.

So no one has tried the Midland Ghost antennae? Speak up if you have. I’m curious how it does compared to an antennae that sticks up above the roof line.

They work great at that. They have a flap that goes up under the windshield weather stripping. When you need to put the top back on, you fold it back a bit to get to the handles to lock it on. They are a sponsor on this forum. Jtops

Yes canvas bungee tops also work great in the rain!
