I've no idea what "oh sweet summer child" means.

Thank you for the short version. I like Town & Country Ford's videos, and the top sounded good. With a background in truck manufacturing, I can say that making RV hardtops isn't exactly Webasto's specialty.
hah, it was a game of thrones reference. just be glad you missed all the woes.

ADV has burned a lot of bridges with people here with very very poor communication and promise/deadlines missed over and over. if you give them money, there is absolutely no guarantee when exactly you will get a top.

Rally Tops, Anderson, and Turn Offroad are in delivery with different lead times. Armadillo Designs is building an aluminum one that is supposed head out the door soon too, but they haven't produce a square back prototype yet, only a slant back.

So literally every other manufacturer has beat ADV who was first to announce to actual deliveries.

I have the Turn top, very satisfied.

I remember a time when I switched from a 2 door to a 4 door to try and get my Bronco sooner. Then if I switch from a hard top to a soft top I may get my Bronco sooner. Still took 20 months. Wonder if I'll be on this magic list? Probably not.

Ordered Feb 2022, converted to 2023. Ford offered us the $2,500 credit if we bailed on the hard top but we rejected it. Ended up getting scheduled 2 months later anyways.

Ford doesn’t owe anyone who took the offer anything. You already got the $2,500 credit.
What credit? If you were dropping the MIC hard top (2021) for the soft top you didn't get crap! The credit I thought was ONLY for those who wanted the MOD top. So excuse us if some of us are a bit salty over the price tag. Add in to that, in June of 2021 I previewed for 2 weeks (with hard top in my order) before it fell off. Finally in August I switched to a soft top to get built. Whether you want to say ford pushed us into it, or just coerced us into it, Ford had a hand in this, so yes many of us are still salty.

I'm referring specifically to the credit offered on 2023 orders for switching from MIC to the soft top.

Regardless, switching to the soft top was a choice. Ford never said if you don't switch, you're bronco won't be built. The closest thing was they said you'd lose price protection at the end of the 2023 model year run. They shared what options had constraints, it was up to the customer to choose if they wanted to wait for those constrained items or to change them in the hopes of getting their bronco sooner.

As for the price difference, yeah it sucks that it costs more as an accessory then it would have if it was included in your build. But then again, what isn't? If you were to piece together all the parts needed for a mod bumper replacement, it'd end up being over $3,000.

What about the option to purchase an OEM soft top?? Is that a thing yet?
I just took delivery of a TOR top and my OEM soft top is for sale.

No problem being salty , but Ford didn't push anyone into anything. I switched to a soft top get get my Bronco sooner. I was my choice, and Ford doesn't owe me or anyone else anything.

Virtually EVERY option ever (and especially lately) is more expensive to try to add after the fact _--- If it is even possible ! The tail gate step on a F150/SD is maybe a $500 option --- more like 3-4K to add later.
Trailer tow mirrors --with wiring and programming -- maybe not. I`m sure I could think of more.
The extreme of course is try to build a vehicle from scratch compared to buying it already assembled. Please buy it with everything you want from the start.

I wonder if this is this also applicable to Canadian customers, or just USA.

Not sure if they follow the same communication channels or not.
I wanted a hard top when I bought my Bronco, and the dealer had told me they'd sell it to me for invoice price, once they could... whether they *remember* telling me that 2.5 years later is another question lol

Maybe if Ford didn’t Drop the ball so many times during this whole process people wouldn’t be salty. Ford messed up a lot with this build. Seems odd you @cr117 defending then so badly. What about the subwoofer delete? $250 off ?!?! Where are you going to get a subwoofer and amp for $250

You’re absolutely right, the whole ordering/build process has been a cluster from the start.

What I’m trying to point out is every customer who bought a bronco knew the deal before they took delivery. At the end of the day, you made the decision, “hey, I really would have liked the hard top, but at least I got my bronco built sooner”. You saw what was on the window sticker, yet you didn’t cancel your order. Seems to me more like a case of buyer’s remorse.

Here’s a dumb analogy: Let’s say I go to the store looking to buy a 12 pack of beer. They’re sold out, but they do have an 11 pack, costing a little less than what I’d have paid for a 12 pack. I go home with an 11 pack because I gotta have some beer right now. The next day, they have 12 packs in stock again. Do I throw a fit because I really wanted that 12 pack yesterday?

The difference between what I paid for my 21 Bronco with a soft top and a new 24 Bronco with a hardtop is almost the same as what I would pay for a Ford accessory hardtop or any other aftermarket hardtop. Confused, am I?

I am not a four door owner, so enlighten me with an answer to my question. If someone ordered dual tops did any of those orders receive their vehicle with the soft top and they then waited for a hard top?( since the production of the MIC was such a debacle.) I don’t think this took place but now am curious if it did occur. After all they did sell the Broncos with the hard top wiper washer for future use.
I am sure someone else in my boat may have answered but.....
I ordered dual tops (2021) and in order to take delivery in October 2021 I took Ford's offer of dropping hardtop but vehicle included "free" hardtop ready kit (washer/wiper controls and connectors)

From the info in post 1 I would guess that I might get an email from Ford.

Yep. I debate taking them up on it just to flip it. Probably not wise.

Not a single buyer who switched to a soft top “knew the deal.” Ford didnt release pricing on the hard top till yesterday. So know one had any idea what that decision would entail later. I was lead to believe that the cost to get a Hard Top later was going to be much closer to the price difference on the order sheet.

To correct your analogy, it would be like you took the 11 pack with a verbal agreement that you could buy the 12th beer later at a reduced rate, but when you go to pick up your missing can they tripled the price for singles.

They knew the deal as in they wouldn't be getting a hard top with their order if they switched to a soft top. Like you said, there were no statements made on pricing if/when the hard top was sold as an accessory at a later date. It was your (incorrect) assumption that you'd get close to the same deal as if you included it in your order. But, as I asked before, when is it ever the case where parts purchased separately cost the same as when the vehicle is built? You'll always will get a better deal on parts when you bundle it with the rest of the vehicle.

You took a gamble, it didn't pay off, and now you're upset about it. At least it only took 6 months for your bronco to go from ordered to built instead of the 1-2+ years it took some of us.

Does anyone remember the dual tops price from the original order pricing? I seem to recall that it was around $2500.
So if @Ford really wants to make it up to all of us who decided we wanted to get our Bronco before the end of time occurred and switched to soft top (yes I got the extra points which in no way compares to this current pricing deal) then they should offer it to us somewhere within that original pricing range!!
