I’m going to the TX Off-Roadeo. Just interested in how many of you who have been, bought the $75 damage protection insurance and how many planning to go are going to purchase it.

Better question, for those that already went, did you hear of any incidents where the Bronco was damaged and this may have been needed?

Off Roadeo employee said no one has had a problem with damage yet.

Went to day 1 last week. I bought it for peace of mind. Not sure if anyone in my group used it but there was definitely a lot of scraping and banging over the course of both days. We also decided to take a harder line and started sliding. Vehicle angle on the dash said 26 degrees. The guides said theyve had it to 40 degrees on a concrete pad, but slick rocks wouldnt see that kind of performance. So there is a chance someone could roll theirs if they chose their own line like we did (the guides will put you on the "safe" line through all obstacles). Why risk it?

What is it supposed to cover? Minor dings and scrapes or a rollover? I thought the whole purpose of the off roadeo and using their Broncos was so you could beat theirs up while you learn.

Sort of a no brainer to purchase. If $75 is too much for you, a Bronco is probably not in your budget.
Get so sick of ridiculous answers like this to every time someone brings up how much something cost. Being aware of how much things cost and if they are a waste of money or worth it is HOW you afford a Bronco.

Anyone that is financially responsible ask questions like this.

Guess when that dealer tacks on a hundred bux or so for additional dealer fees we should just blow it off cuz if you can't afford it, you shouldn't be buying it I guess.

I'm on the fence as well. This is sort of catastrophic insurance. Do they expect the Broncos to get beaten up? Sure. Will they say, "Hey, no problem" if you roll one? Probably not.

That said, with a guide on a controlled course I don't plan on rolling one. But as a wise man once said (Tyson?) "Everybody's got a plan til they get punched in the mouth."

Seemed like something they should of just rolled into the price of admission. Think of it as a rental car, how often do you buy insurance for a rental car and when you do actually need to use it for something freakish. It was good piece of mind.
