Ford really needs a feature matrix so one could check the features they want and it filter down to the trim or package needed... but for now, does anyone know if the packages are the only way to get those features?

For example, my current car (Mazda) has a premium sound system and adaptive cruise control...sounds like the only way to get this is with the fully loaded "lux" package.

And of course, that limits the trims down to 50%.

I really wish dealers would break all their stuff down to simple and related items.. like towing, lighting, off-road, technology, etc... and allow us to combine what we needed.

À la carte is great for the customer and the buying process.
Packages are great for the manufacturing process and dealers.

So true... but even if not single features then at least grouped... why should I have to buy a heated steering wheel and garage door opener to get adaptive cruise and premium sound.

When companies think like cable tv...they get their cord cut :)

Seems like I need the lux and the sasq which puts me at badlands or outer banks... now if I just knew what price tag that would be...

I understand hype and teaser ford, but get it together or a wrangler may be in my future.

My favorite part is when you're using the configurators online, and you see a great $1,200 option that seems totally reasonable, and the little box pops up that says to get that option you'll need $12,000 in other options...
