A couple good shots of the standard plastic rear bumper on the Base, BB, OB and WT as opposed to the standard steel bumper on the BD, BL and FE.
I see quite a few significant differences. Most notably outside of the strength/durability, I like how the steel has the gripper traction on the top similar to an F-150. Plus side on the plastic is no rust from the back side as mud and water are flung up on the back. Anyone that has had a truck for any amount of time in the northern states has surely dealt with a rusty bumper.

As far as slight nitpicks go, I've never been a fan of the rear bumper (plastic or steel). Very bulky
In the Jeep world do the aftermarket units have the provisions for the sensors?

Still not clear to me if the steel upgrade for WT includes the rear bumper.... interesting that it says only the front - wouldn't that be weird?

Heck yes. Truthfully that's one of the underlining reasons for this thread in my head. Why I care, and am paying attention to that. I need a plan if it isn't. Maybe the marketplace on here will provide a factory steel takeoff with the rear sensor provisions.

It's not that weird. Tons of Jeeps have a steel front and plastic rear.

In any case, it should be available through Parts.

As I see it a bruised steel bumper makes the truck look legit and adds to its tough vibe.

A plastic bumper that is bent or cracked or otherwise damaged looks just plain sad and adds nothing to the character lines.

A moderately scratched/dented steel bumper is less in need of a replacement for cosmetic reasons than a plastic bumper.

I would think you would be able to get front and rear in a package right?
Not according to this material. It could be dated at this point though.

I would hope they do front and rear. Seems Sort of silly to not allow both.

Watching this thread now...

This is something that I've been wondering about too.

According to the published trim guide:

Ford Bronco Plastic VS. Steel Rear bumper 2020-10-05_14-22-19
Ford Bronco Plastic VS. Steel Rear bumper 2020-10-05_14-21-40

Sorry, didn't stitch these together but the first row is Standard and second row is Available option... the first column on the second image is Badlands and the second column is Wildtrak.

EDIT - OP just did a much better job showing this so just ignore mine, lol.

I am not opposed to a plastic rear bumper, it is just in this case the steel looks a lot better in terms of shape and style. Kind of sucks this is the only option for an OBX. The longer things go, the more disappointed I seem to get.
