Boss Broncos is developing frame mounted rock sliders. However, we would like to get feedback as to what the end user wants. The dilemma is being able to mount the slider to the frame adequately without having to drill or weld. They are being designed for the ultimate in protection. So the question is: Would needing to drill a few holes in your frame be a dealer breaker? Would you rather just use the body mounts or weld them on?

Why frame mounted? When coming down hard on a rock or other obstacle, you want the force to be transferred to the stronger frame, not the body.

Metal tech 4x4 uses a bolt on system using brackets and U bolts. It’s pretty cool if you take a look at them.

No one is going to want to drill or weld onto their Bronco. It has to be bolt on.

Also, there’s no poll feature.

Bolt on.

Doubt many people would want weld on (maybe hard-core off roaders). Most people (I included) can't even stand drilling license plate holes into their bumpers lol.

Weld on would be preferred. Less rot long term, stronger. Will there be a 2d version available?

Lots of no-ones out there then. Doing things well usually requires more effort.

Folks who a afraid to drill a few holes are not folks that are interested in real rock sliders...anything that can bolted on can also be welded on...

Drilling holes into the frame would be fine so long as you provide a template to help ensure I put the holes in the right place.

the SVC sliders use existing holes . thats the route i went. I installed it myself. I had to buy some bolt protector spacers from ballistic fabrication though. just be sure to use some blue loctite when installing the slider to the body.

I think you are asking the wrong question. The question you should be asking is how many sliders do you want to make and sell?

100% bolt on will sell the most. Requiring one or two extra holes to be drilled will decrease your sales. Requiring welding will drastically reduce your sales. Your call.

Build the best, or build the best within the parameters you determine.
