That engine combo is crazy.

In the F150, your base engine is a 3.3L V6 NA engine. I would argue a less sophisticated engine than the 2.3 Ecoboost. That is paired with a 6 speed auto transmission.

If you select the 2.7L ecoboost in the F150, the increase over the 3.3L is $995 dollars.

If we go to the 3.5L ecoboost, it is $2600. And that is the base Raptor engine!

But get this, if I want to add the 10-speed automatic, it requires the 2.7L and the cost jump is 0 - because the combo comes together for a total of $995.

And if I just go 3.5L ecoboost plus 10-speed transmission, the cost is: $2600 over the base 3.3L + 6 speed. The tranny is part of the engine price.

And Ford is trying to suggest the combo from 2.3 w/ manual to 2.7 w/ auto is $3500?!?!?! That manual has to be a shit transmission if the cost to change is THAT high.

That is ridiculous. $1500 is fair.

Yup! Thatā€™s exactly my thought too. How do they justify that price increase?

Same if I go BLs route. Iā€™d rather have the 33 ATs as well. If I went BD Iā€™d def think about the Sasquatch but then I wouldnā€™t get those sweet black steelies which I like! This thread def hasnā€™t helped me. I thought I have it figured out but.. I donā€™t...made it worse I think on picking out one! ??
Absolutely, I have squatch on my other options for an OBX build out and a BD build out. For me, the OBX ticked some of the boxes (auto and Lux option)but just seems to put off-roading as a second priority (Low hanging running boards, painted flares thatā€™ll get destroyed on first brush up), whereas the black diamond definitely has the capability but you canā€™t get the Lux package (I want the 12ā€ screen and cameras from high package and wife wants the better sound system and adaptive cruise from Lux).

Why not lease if the 2021 isn't ultimately what you want. Just an option at least.
I am just trying to be realistic, I tend to get bored with cars every two years. If they launch a Raptor with a 3.5 and some sort of heritage package I could see myself jumping on it. I normally have success in not getting hurt too hard with resale, but I tend to research a lot to make sure that I am setting myself up for success. One unknown is 4 cylinder vs 6 cylinder resale, will this end up being like the Jeep TJ, where the inline 6 still goes for $10k 20 years later where the 4 cylinder can be had for half of that? The extra $2k for the 6 cylinder today may pay for itself in resale or ease of sale due to popularity which can be equally important in some cases.

Im back to the BLs I just may have to go over my budget a few grand. I wanted the upgraded top with the windows that pop out I see me using that option a ton! Then the mid, tow package, auto, plus a cactus crusher!

There is a height discrepancy and we know about the limited travel. Otherwise, we've been told they are the same and there was never reason to believe otherwise.
I would say that Sasquatch being offered as an option on Badlands is plenty of reason to believe otherwise. Ford used different language describing the SAS suspension and the Badlands suspension as well. SAS is not available for manuals at this time, another reason to question if there are differences and exactly what they are.
I have not seen any specs from Ford regarding the similarities or differences, so I am not going to assume anything.
I am going with the manual tranny, so I am very interested in how they compare to see what I will need to do for larger tires without sacrificing travel.

Iā€™m curious about the price of the mid package...do you think they adjust the price for manual transmission if you arenā€™t getting the remote start. Thats $400 less in equipment

I would assume theyā€™re pricing it for what it is on THIS model, which is the top tier engine that has two more cylinders and another turbo. Bear in mind Ford sells nearly a million F150s per year, if not more (just under 900k last year) so they make up for any subsidized pricing on it for that platform and need to price things to stay competitive in a crowded market. Bronco has one real competitor and the pricing is already very good there.

So anyone figure out how much the advanced 4x4 system might be?

So if you got maybe a base or black diamond with the sasquatch, I personally would want the 4A option. Sasquatch just gets us the front and rear lockers, tires, wheels and such but not the 4A mode correct?

I couldn't sit idle and let a 71 page thread be unanswered, but I don't have much to say on pricing...it "is what it is".

So ill just tell a joke...two peanuts walk into a bar...

.
I'll finish this joke when B&P comes out.
