Wondering if anyone has the Rakattach 2.0 for their bronco yet. Looking at getting the 1up two bike rack as well as a swing out extender for the tailgate. Most people seem to go with the Kuat Pivot. The Rakattach 2.0 is newer. It has the advantage of allowing you to change which way it pivots and it seems to be sturdier. The Pivot is $100 less, a bit less sturdy, and can only swing one way. I am wondering. With the extra sturdiness of the Rakattach seems to bring extra weight and bulk. Wondering what the best combo here is.

I like the versatility and sturdiness of the Rakattach but at the same time I am going to be taking it on and off quite a bit.

Looking forward to hearing everyone elses experience.

I have the kuat pivot V2 (passenger side). I cant see it being any sturdier than it is.

I love it. Super smooth and it goes 120" (further than the Rakattack 2).

I highly recommend it.

Look around and you can normally find them on-sale too.

It looks like they have updated the RakAttach some. I chose the Kuat Pivot (driver's side) to go with my 1up rack. If you look at my posts you can see my comments in multiple threads about this. At the time I made my decision the RakAttach only opened to 90 degrees, now it's 110 degrees. Kuat was 120 degrees. The Kuat pivot uses an expanding wedge to take out the wobble of the rack, similar to what 1up uses on the bike rack. The RakAttach uses some bracket that didn't look as effective to me. Those things plus the cost difference are why I made my decision and I wouldn't change it after a year of using that setup, although I'm sure the RakAttach is high quality piece of hardware.

Thanks. I ended up going with the Kuat Pivot and the 1UP Superduty. I generally dislike mixing brands like that but I just couldn't justify the extra $100 for the Rakattach. I'm sure I would be happy either way though.

In this case youll be fine. Its all standard sizes to extend the hitch.

I have the Kuat and the Quikrack Mach 2 (basically the 1UP)

Love the set up

I might do the same combo. That is what Justin B McBride has too.

question- Did you go driver side or passenger side swing and any particular reason why? I am thinking passenger side so far, but haven’t 100% decided yet as I want to think through my build for the future a little more carefully first before I commit.

I did passenger side just to not block the license plate

Oh, wow. Didn’t even think about that. So driver side when not swung around out of way blocks license plate when driving on the road?

Yes it does. Some states don't care. I live in NY where I predict it would be a big deal.

This is great information; thanks as well @604Bronco for the link to your prior post. I started looking at the various options based on the comments but I thought I better hold off until I actually get my Bronco or at least some sort of indication that it will be produced.
