Raptor Owners!
I just got my 2023 Raptor and on a spirited trail ride I hit a rock concealed behind some bushes which sliced the sidewall on the BFG. Definitely driver error as I'm still getting used to the wiiiidth on this thing. 3.5" on each side doesn't seem too much, until it is. (Side note - factory jack gets the job done.)

Has anyone with a Raptor encountered a trail (wood/shelf road/rocks/etc) where they have discovered the Raptor is just too wide to continue the trail?

Overall the Raptor is amazing. I'm just worried about adventuring limitations due to the width.

Thanks!
Sean

Wide but ridiculously capable. Can't fit through a bypass? Drive the line, she'll probably do it. Different challenges for way way more capability.

Need to define what "too wide" means here.

Is it

a) A twig scratches The tOp and OmyGEEBUS MAKE IT STOP
b) Let's just drive over it.

Once you know which one of those you are, you'll have your answer.

b) Y'know, if you kinda drive at it, it might get outta your way. No worries!

Scratches aren’t the concern. I’m talking about physically too wide to proceed on the route.

Depends where you're going. A lot of the legendary trails are passible by 1 ton buggies which can easily be 85-90" wide at the tires. There will always be those goat trails that even regular Broncos don't fit down. There's an offroad park near me with gatekeepers set at 80".

Will it fit in the Starbucks drive-thru? If so, then not too wide.

Short answer, NO. It's a by-product of the capabilities that were engineered into it. 🥃

So, with all the Jeep YouTubers putting on heavier axles, 0 offset wheels, and wider tires: I wonder how wide the get to? Like how wide is Moby or the Gladiator on Wayalife?

I am 7.5” wider than my modestly modified JKUR was, but a lot of the extreme crawlers look that much wider too.

Unless it is a shelf road with a collapsing wall and 1,000' of air on the other side.

Totally agree with you. I was thinking the same thing. The difference: Widened Jeeps typically have slimmer fenders and will bounce a tire off the obstacle. The Raptor will bounce a fender.

I'd actually consider the ADV 4.5" Raptor Fenders for that reason.
