I love the large grill openings of the Big Bend and Outer Banks. Just like sports car guys despise fake vents (ahem - Supra), the grill flapper to improve highway efficiency just looks icky.

I understand the engineering, but since I’ll be upgrading my 2.7L I want to get as much sir to the radiator : intercoller as possible. So, I’m removing the 3rd Eye.

Anyone else popping the grill and ditching this plastic?

Isn't this the active grille shutter? Kinda looks like it's not part of the grille.

Yes, it’s the active grille (or grill - whatever) aero shutter. It’s useful and good engineering, I just don’t like the look.

I want a classic grill(e) look plus more cooling for the 400+hp of an upgraded 2.7L twinturbo.

Dude my problem is more... "what IS this (circled in orange) and why can't it be black like the rest of the grill?!?!?"

The active grille shutters will be just in front of the A/c condensor and will be multi shutters from top to bottom to control airflow over condensor/radiator/intercooler.as prev stated is most likely a cover for latch assembly

He meant the actual blue one. 😉
Who in their right mind would think that when I said “the blue one” I was talking about the one on the left.

I don’t want to allege anything... but judging by that member’s recent posting history, my spidey sense is tingling.
