With many people putting in 2 reservations there are really 2 numbers. Total number of people and then the larger nunber of total reservations.

Most people with 2 reservations will only get one Bronco. So Ford may want to use the number of people with reservation as a more real number. But some salesmen will want to use the more impressive sounding bigger number that counts each 100$ deposit.

So I visited a local dealer today to look at the Bronco Sport, as I talked to the Bronco Specialist, of course discussing Bronco6g and Ford. He was telling me about a recent call they had with their Ford rep, he makes an off hand remark that Ford has 500,000 reservations ?

Now, do I believe that, no. Was the number for both Bronco and Bronco Sport, most likely. So then I ask him what he thinks the conversion percentage would be, he did not think the Ford 70% was real but maybe 50% as he said he has never seen a vehicle with so much buzz in his 20 years in the business.

So has anyone heard any numbers from your dealers?
I think a lot of the numbers being thrown around are being blown way out of proportion and Ford is never going to release the exact number. Besides, It's not about how many reservations Ford has for the Bronco, it's about the number of reservations Ford can convert to actual sales.
You're going to get people that can't wait a year plus to wait for a new vehicle, you'll have people that just placed reservations with no intention of buy a Bronco but just wanted a reservations because the knew the could get their deposit back, you'll loose some people to jeep with the new 392 V8 or 4xe, you'll get some that will cancel and wait for the warthog/raptor, you'll loose some reservations because of COVID related financial issues, you'll some to other life events, and could probably just keep going the list of reasons why people will cancel their reservations is pretty much limitless.

The only thing we know for sure about reservations is they can be canceled at anytime.

I've seen at least 10,000 people post here that they were angry about one thing or another and cancelling, so that can't be right. :)

Per https://www.autoblog.com/2020/10/23/2021-ford-bronco-reservation-order-statistics/ Ford announced they have over 190,000 reservations. That was a month and a half ago.

Mark Levine has stated he believes over 75% will convert to orders. That's over 142,500 vehicles (https://www.carsdirect.com/automoti...ert-over-75-of-bronco-reservations-into-sales).

Ford builds, on average, about 7,550 Rangers a month. They build, on average about 19,250 F150 trucks per month (per manufacturing plant). Although their F150 production has gone higher than that at times.

That said, will Ford be able to build Broncos at a rate high enough to satisfy 142,500 reservation holders within the first model year, first calendar year? If they produce twice as many Broncos as Rangers, it'd take almost a year to produce just the reserved vehicles. If they were able to produce as many Broncos, on average, as they do F150 it'd take until the end of calendar year 2021; that is assuming they begin manufacture by spring 2021.

If the new model year comes out, say by October or so, you are almost certainly guaranteed to get a 2022.
The research I did on the subject of how many vehicles are produced at Wayne Assembly showed the plant can build between 5,000 to 5,300 vehicles per week. Considering the plant also builds the Ranger, we have to assume at least a 50/50 production split. So a 48-week production year would build about 250,000 vehicles. Depending on the the production split between Ranger and Bronco, Ford could build the pre-ordered volume in 12 to 18 months.

Those numbers seem to jibe with what Ford has been saying regarding delivery dates. Model year designation depends on the manufacturer's registration of VINs with the DOT. I still think most all of the pre-order production will be 2021 MY vehicles.

After B&P went live Ford mentioned there were around 500k builds completed so maybe that's what's being referenced?

Interesting, that seems to be a logical explanation.

The other one being it is a total of all reservations, Bronco, Bronco Sport and Mach-E.

So would that end up being like 75k Broncos annually?
