I'm lost on the "so what" of this thread. Are you keeping them, or do you want to sell them?

You wanna buy them?? Lol
The "so what" of it is, you do NOT get what you pay for, first and foremost.
And as I mentioned, the poor engineering, thoughlessness of them and the trap of wanting something everyone else has (blame this on my first overlanding exposure being Trail Recon lol)
But most of all, maybe it's a warning for all those would-be offroaders on here 🤷

How far off road are you going that these are needed?

Northern Ontario, northern Quebec...
2 gallons is barely enough for a solo weekend. These are for clean tap water to take with...
A water filter setup is used for cooking and cleaning from Lake and River sources.

Some stuff is not designed/engineered for actual use but for looking cool while never actually using it for its supposed purpose.
Not sure what you're talking about, I see these on massively over-modified Jeep Gladiators all the time! About 4-6 rotopax jerry's strapped down the sides of the bed rack just under a massive overlanding tent.

That stuff all gets used! And we're talking about every.single.weekend use! Not just on the way to/from the fertility clinic to stock up on little blue pills.

Note: it took effort sorting through page 1 google results for a Gladiator that wasn't red, black or gray. Apparently these are the colors that speak to Gladiator owners

I just realized this isn't a design problem, it's user error. There's a "handle" ("fingerle?") on each end. You insert one index finger in each hole and carry it horizontally, as humans normally do. 😂

Ford Bronco Rotopax is garbage rant 21ty71u-
That looks like Brooklyn, epicenter of the overlanding world, so I guess it makes sense.

A perfect example of how a gimmicky product can corner a market...
But the stuff is just poorly, POORLY engineered! It's way over priced, "look at my cool gear" crap...
You just summed up an easy 90% of the aftermarket right there. Really makes me want to just keep my next vehicle, whatever that may be, stock other than wheels and tires.

Sell those and get a Scepter 20L water jug. They fit in standard jerry can holders.
100% agree....Scepter Fuel and Water cans are the Best. I have the 20L and 10L. Lately, I prefer the 10L stubbies. Scepter Fuel Cans are $$$, but worth it. If you ever drive into Canada, buy extras...they go for big $$ on Ebay!

I did not catch that you are in Canada...Scepters are easy to find and not expensive up there!

So for someone who needs water or fuel containers, what would you recommend?

The military cans I’ve used since the 80’s and while in the military and on my civilian owned military vehicles worked well

for once something used by men in war actually works better than the civilian counterpart!
