I have no dog in the fight here, but when I started reading this thread when it popped up on New Posts, my first thought was "Why is everyone so mad at this guy?" Seems to me he's being as transparent as his Ford overlords are letting him be. If I was heading west instead of east to pick up my truck, I'd sure as hell be tempted to go to Serramonte.

Well, I'd consider myself far from average on vehicle knowledge. Please reserve your judgement of my abilities until you've had a chance to have a conversation with me, I'll be sure to do the same for you.

As I've said, I'm not here to convert orders to our store, any that do I consider a bonus. I didn't come out and say I'll offer you a discount if you convert your order to Serramonte! I don't need to be here, and if the general consensus is that I'm not welcome, I'll delete the account.

Forgive me for trying to have some sort of outreach, the level of hostility from some members is astounding. I could stand by idly, or I could participate. I've chosen the latter. As my store's Bronco Specialist, I find it important to be involved. As an vehicle enthusiast, I want to be involved.
@Gloff I told you in Post #5 of this thread to buckle up due to the turbulence ahead, looks like the seat belt is securely fastened. Might I suggest adding a shoulder harness to the mix?

You're doing fine. I don't have skin in the Bay Area game but I appreciate you trying to answer these questions. Now just give these guys a deal and you will reach cult hero status around here and your dealership.:)

I think there's been a handful of minor fumbles on the part of FoMoCo since the reveal, starting with the awful reservation experience and several transparency issues and lies from them since. I think because of that, the forums are going to have a lot of disgruntled and annoyed fans hanging around here salivating for the chance to bark at someone that works for Ford in some capacity.

Personally, I appreciate you coming on and sharing as much as you can without losing your job. It's good to get some feedback from somebody. And speaking as someone that purchased a Ford vehicle in the Bay Area in the past two years, shopping around at the majority of the many Ford stores, I would like to see more of what you and others like Granger are doing.

Some of the Ford options in the Bay Area are the lowest of low when it comes to the stereotypical slimey dealership image. (No offense to you I hope, it is what it is). It's understandable considering the strength of the economy here, I doubt you have to worry much about bending over backward to make a sale. People here have money and if they're going to come buy a mustang, that's that.

My point is, I think people expect the traditional type of transaction from salesmen like you. Great customer service, cater to thier needs, offer an attractive deal, and make a sale, no strings attached. Between the popularity of the vehicle and the limited information, people are going to be a bit impolite when anything less is offered.

After my 2018 Ford purchase, I'm personally just looking for a dealer to be transparent and forthcoming with information. Obviously the Granger deal is an outlier and a very specific approach to this vehicle launch but I think, according to the rumors about fulfillment and future allocation on this vehicle, that a decent discount as a good faith gesture would go a long way. This vehicle is built to rival jeep and encourage owners to mod, add on, accessorize, ect. I'd like to find the right dealer to be the GO-TO dealership for all things Bronco. Part and accessory orders, repairs (I'm definitely wheeling mine), routine maintenance, ect. I really dislike some of the stores in the East Bay so anyone willing to step up and even come close to the customer service we've seen from the Granger guys is much appreciated.

Sorry you have to put up with all of the haters. I'm happy to have a dealer in Norcal on this forum. If you look at the number of reservations by state posted on Bronco6g, CA has the second largest amount of reservation holders. I suspect if you offer something the floodgates will open and you will become The Bronco Specialist in CA not just at your dealership.

Bingo.

I have my reservation with a dealer that's only 40 min from me, whom I've bought from previously - but I'd be willing to transfer it to Serramonte (which is not THAT far from Sacramento) for the right deal :)

Looks like the poll is up to 66 reservations that would be switched. An enterprising dealer should be able to justify the numbers of putting together some kind of deal with that.

As you guys probably got already, Ford sent out the following email to reservation holders. I got a call last night from a client asking about something unrelated, and found the below in the FAQ that jibes with the email sent today. The FAQ can be found here at the bottom, and this language is still live: https://www.ford.com/suvs/bronco/20...=brncobrand-reservenow-reservationinfo-bronco

Will reservations be fulfilled in the order placed?

Reservations will be fulfilled in approximately the same order received, based on final ordering and production of similarly configured Broncos. All reservations will be completed before production of stock units begins.

Serramonte Ford Bronco6G Pricing

Ladies and Gents, thank you for your patience. Here is what we're going to offer to any B6G member that PM's me before 10/31/2020.

Pricing:
All B6G members with Bronco Reservations with us or converted to us by 10/31/2020, and PM me their name, Reservation number, and email will be eligible.

All Trims, 2 door and 4 door, EXCEPT First Edition will be $500 over invoice if you are not an AZDX Plan Customer. First Edition without a plan pin will be MSRP. In the event plan pricing is not offered on FE, we will discuss with individual x-plan holders about the pricing.

If you are eligible for a plan program (A, Z, D, or X) we will accept it on any model. Regular Plan rules apply of course, and you must have your pin at time of purchase (when your Bronco arrives at the dealership for delivery).

We wanted to be fair to both plan customers and non-plan customers. We also want to maintain the integrity of the X-Plan program, which should run anywhere from $50-$200 above invoice. We want to make sure X-Plan remains a benefit to those who have the eligibility rather than give a blanket discount that surpasses the program.

Order deposit:
We are not asking for additional deposits beyond the $100 you already committed.

Order Details:
Once we can start conversions in December, we will be reaching out individually to schedule an order consultation to confirm your vehicle colors, tops, options, and accessories. I have yet to discuss accessory pricing, but should have something by conversion time.

Schwag:
We plan to do some additional swag, but the details haven't been hammered out yet. I will update this space when we do have information to share. We wanted to get our pricing out first and foremost, so this took a backseat for a short time.

Other Stuffs:
We have some other communications planned. Prior to the Bronco Specialist role, I also did most of the special ordering in the store, so I have some extensive experience tracking special orders. Ford is going to use the same tracking system they did when they redesigned Mustang in 2015, and it's more transparent than other model lines. I'll still have a little deeper access to individual orders from our store, so feel free to reach out to me for any updates.

Thank you,

Sean McLaughlin

This is a great option for everyone in the California Bay Area that does not have X plan. Way to go @Gloff at Serramonte!

Here's the only thing I want to know now: are the jackasses in this thread man enough to admit they reacted in a shitty manner to someone that was working to help us?

If so, I think public apologies are necessary, given how public their shit-talking was.

You know who you are.

I generally agree with your earlier posts, but this last one is a bit petty and won’t elicit what you’re looking for.

Truth be told, this thread has definitely been worthwhile and all the comments, even the colorful ones, have moved the conversation to a point where the Bay Area has its first palpable deal.

There is some truth in all of these comments. To the OP’s credit, I’m sure he has thick enough skin not to be offended, and handled It professionally enough. He doesn’t need apologies, he’s going to get more business now.

fwiw, I’ve got 2 reservations in the East Bay, and I’m content to watch the other dealers now try to compete before I make a switch. I appreciate the OP’s efforts as there’s finally a more competitive market in the Bay Area.
