2021 Badlands right at 40k and no off road driving ever. Had the first shock Reservoir completely fall off and now the other ones leaking. Super disappointing.

Yeah, apparently there was a run of Bilstein shocks that had issues staying together. It's been reported here a few times before.

Not unless they purchased an ESP
I recall that even within the original warranty Ford was classifying this as rust hence not covered.

Really depends on the dealership. But with 40k miles it’s out of base warranty.
If this was still in base warranty, I would warranty them for my customer.
Depending on the situation, I consider this an issue with the shock, not the rust.

Although I don't suppose you wanted to change them now, there are better options out there. Bilstein has some nicer upgrades (5112 or 6112) if you're willing, or Eibach. A lot of others, too.

The 6112s rock. If you will be paying someone to install them, paying $800 to install a $500 part does not ma e a ton of sense. Since the OP is not off-roading the lower end Fox shocks may be a better choice as I hear they ride better on asphalt.

Just about everything on these are junk! Since when is it OK for the reservoirs to just fall off??? That's not normal wear and tear! There's a pattern here and should addressed as a manufacture defect! I guess the name bilstein means nothing. Walmarts great value is more trustworthy!

I haven't had any issues with my 23 Badlands SAS. Not sure if it was affecting that model year.

My ram blew a shock at 41k miles, I replaced it. Use to be common to replace shocks at the same time as tires so go buy a shock. People can blame rust, but you bought upgraded suspension, bigger tire and more maintenance.
