Hey all! Been a lurker for a bit on this site but wanted to finally come out of the shadows to get your opinion.

I made my reservation! I decided to go with the Outer Banks/2.7/Auto/Lux/Sas with the black painted top. What can I say, I'm a sucker for depreciation! But since owning another Bronco has been on my radar since I sold my '84 Bronco back in 2006 I assure you selling it isn't in the cards. My question is this, I'm considering having the top painted white before I take delivery. I'm curious how many others are thinking of going this route with their painted tops?

I've mocked up what I think it would look like using the build and price off my build sheet and Photoshop. I think it really ups the retro look as this is the same paint scheme my '84 had. Thanks!

I'll be dropping my top off at my friend's body shop on the way home from the dealer. I'm getting the white top Ford should have made from the beginning.

I personally think it looks great. I like the fact it's the same scheme as your '84 too. That would seal it for me just based on sentimental value IMO.

White tops will be a fad on par with the mullet.

Word on the street is that MY 2022 will have white top and body color top options. Since you just made a reservation you likely be looking at 2022 model anyhow.

Oh, you mean a fad like the original 66 to 77 Broncos with white tops that everyone is clamoring about? LOL

The way this page loaded I couldn't see the pic until I scrolled, but as I read the post before scrolling, I was all, "Nah, take it , drive it a bit , see how you like it now that it's real and then see if you still want to paint it."
Then I scrolled down.....

That looks freaking SWEEET!!!!
The options are yours, never know the Bronco with the Black top, or give the Black top a shot first.

Either way is a win really.

My plan is to get my MIC top painted. I've had plenty of textured plastic vehicle parts painted and they held up great for a decade+ so I'm not worried about that.

My big decision is white or body color top. Also want to do something about my black OBX grille...maybe white with a white top or a silver/gray with body color top.
