Man that just reeks of quality control issues at the factory... Lol
It's probably for testing purposes. Probably shouldn't assume it wasn't on purpose.

Sad to say that I was chatting up a Ford rep online last night, and she confirmed that in BD, no LED available, and I asked specifically about the taillights. Don't know why, that, like SOOOO many other things, remains a deep mystery. I'm losing confidence that this is an easy or inexpensive change-out. I'm hoping that you can at least change out the lenses...but beginning to even doubt that.
As mentioned previously, all of thr headlights on thr new Broncos will be LED. The only difference is the way they look.

I was making a joke, really. But giving the modular assembly architecture of modern automobile manufacturing, the good news is the std. lights and Signature lights use the same mounting points and electrical connections.

I think it was just a simple low-rate initial production part sourcing error. But who really knows. Again, I was just trying a little humor. :)

I'd bet the beam pattern is identical as well.

I totally dig the look of the standard lights with amber running lights. As for the tail lights, can't you just pop in some LED bulbs?

Standard lights look more retro. Like the days when you would pull up by the riverbank or lake, or near the campsite, turn on the parking lights, play the radio, enjoy a cold beverage and look at the stars. It makes me almost want them for that reason alone.
I do like the signatures for the cool effects, so I'm good either way. Getting a BL, pretty sure, so signature it is. If I happen to drop down to the BD I'd be perfectly happy with the standard ones as well.
But I do like the signature tails. Gotta have those.

I didn't say the taillights were LED. I did say the headlights are, though.

Thought there is anecdotal evidence that the taillights will be upgraded with the BLIS available with the mid package.

Not according to Ford. We can hope, but they're saying no.

I'm going with either the BD or BB and will probably look in to swapping out the tail lights, just because I like the signature design. I like the amber DRLs so I'm keeping them. I'm hoping the swapping the tail lights aren't real difficult to do.

Most of us are in that very camp...Ford rep I chatted with says no, can't do it...but who knows?
