Soft top broken tabs

So how excatly did that work, I'm confused on how to attach the wire? Sorry if it's obvious lol

Basically just drilled very carefully with a Dremel on the red marks and ran some wire through the plastic on the cloth side, then fed the wire through the plastic side and twisted it tight.

Oooh I see. That makes a lot of sense. I had t really messed with because I didn't want to make it worse! But will need to do this. No leaking through the tab holes?

So long as you don't drill through the cloth, there should be no leaks because the repair is under the cloth.

This just happened to me yesterday. I wasn't even trying to take the top off. I noticed it when i got out of the car. I think it may have happened when i propped up the top to put something in the trunk. Maybe when i put it back down. I'm taking it to the dealer Tues.

Anyone had this resolved under warranty?

Took delivery of mine Saturday. Went to take the top down Sunday. Local dealer said they'll get me in for service appointment to look on Thursday. I've been terrified to actually attempt taking the top off to investigate and make it worse.

Model: Ford 2021-2022 Bronco Soft top roof Issue: Some 2021-2022 Bronco vehicles equipped with a soft top roof may exhibit loose exterior fabric on the rear window assembly. This may be due to broken D-pillar clips on the rear window. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to replace the D-pillar clips with rivets. Action: Follow the Service Procedure to repair vehicles that meet all of the following criteria: • 2021-2022 Bronco • Equipped with a soft-top roof • Loose exterior fabric on the rear window due to broken D-pillar clips

Rear Driver side on soft top…broke my plastic tabs. Suggestions? I searched back to March.

Mine did the same thing. It is going in Wednesday to be repaired under warranty. But I did repair it with some two part epoxy at the tab locations until the dealership got the parts in and has held up for several months with no issues, glad to see I'm not the only one with a Dane riding shotgun!

Yes I had my rear soft top panel replaced under warranty for this.

Yeah they should not be fastened with cheap thin plastic tabs that break if the user grabs from the wrong area.

With the TSB and warranty replacements, seems like Ford agrees. Bookmarking this TSB and thread just in case.

my rear isn’t broken, but holy crap the side windows were crazy tight to stretch into place on my week old ‘22. Took me over an hour of working them and I’m still afraid I have too much tension to the seam. We’ll see.
