I haven’t seen many options out there for mounting a Starlink Mini in a 2 door other than some homemade mounts but I don’t have the expertise or patience to make. I pieced together something that actually solves this issue. I combined the @Desertchief Revolink Starlink mini mount and the @Turn Offroad overhead molle panel. The work around was flipping the mounting brackets on the molle panel to provide the needed clearance to be able to install/remove the starlink mini from the mounting bracket.

What speeds are you getting (upload/download)? Also, Any latency measurements? I’ve been looking at satellite-based Internet for quite sometime, but the speeds have always prevented me from switching. Thanks.

I maintain 30ms and 250Mb externally mounted. I do like the look of this solution, but I doubt it would go thru my roof, roof rack, and RTT.

Killer work!!

For context, I pull 120mbps at speed with my starlink mini under the hardtop of the Braptor. It’s been a total game changer. Glad to see 2 door guys getting creative. I’m eventually going to develop a bespoke crossbar or mount for it, but this looks like a great solution.

Great write up. Wondering if it would fit in a 4door.

To my knowledge, the Turn Offroad overhead molle panel is universal and works in both the 2-door and 4-door, so yes it should work in a 4-door. Depending on your need and application, Revolink makes a rear cargo mount for the 4-door and Raptors so you could mount it in the rear cargo area closer to the rear electrical plugs as opposed to over the back seat area.

Besides Starlink, our only choices are those lame satellites that look like DirectTV or Dish, or “fixed wireless” which is basically like trying to run everything over 3G but slower.

Works fine for streaming video and working from home.

Occasionally have issues with uplink speed, but my work’s VPN cuts uplink speeds in half.

That is a great setup. Have been interested in Starlink.

I was just using a Netgear Nighthawk 4G hotspot with an omnidirectional antenna.

For my cabin tested Hughes-net which was painfully slow….very limited data plan. Then tried a MikroTik wireless 4G wireless dish and got pretty good speeds. Now on a local provider that gets up to 50-100mbps for mountain/rural customers.

Thanks for the write up on this.

It goes through my fiberglass Rally Top with no issues, but yeah, I don't know that it would go through metal for a rack or anything, and I haven't tried it with my soft top yet.

Only hangups are driving through heavily wooded areas and overpasses - can't get around the "Clear Line of Sight to the sky" thing, which is easy to forget while driving. It won't affect streaming music most of the time - that usually has enough buffer to ride through, but if you are trying to make a call or anything real time it can get a bit janky.

It is a total game changer for me for the Bronco. Nothing better than being able to "work from home" up at Grizzly Lake or on top of Quartz Mountain.

I just posted my install and saw this pop up as a suggested post under it.
I also used the Turn off road overhead molle rack with the brackets flipped over.
Grabbed a magnetic mount made for roof top use.
I'm running mine thru a Jackery Explorer 100 Plus to keep from rebooting every time I shut it off somewhere. Jackery run to the rear 12V to keep it topped off.
Love your setup, the mount looks great.

Just got this same setup, but the holes for the revolink mount, and molle panel don't align. I'll have to figure something out. I may just fabricate a custom mount leveraging the speaker attachment points.
