I got this one: Perfect fit stubby antenna from Builtright Industries. Works great for the rare time I put the radio on, never have had a problem with reception. I live about 15 miles south of Buffalo, NY so it is basically all flat, as usual with these things YMMV depending on where you live, distance to the transmitters and the terrain.
I had one on my F150 a few years ago. I am in-between Knoxville and Nashville TN. Closer to Knoxville. Most of the stations we get here are a long way aways. When I went to the shorter antenna I lost the three stations I listened to.
When I traveled between TN and MO I wouldn't get the stations I normally could get along the route. It was useless in MO because of the area we visit.
I would say if you have solid stations you listen to, and don't plan on traveling into the center of the country the Carven was the one I used. I sold th truck with it on it, and have not replaced it.
I have The Stubby and base stereo. Reception is pretty poor in my area now. Radio no longer finds FM stations when I auto scan 🫤
I never used it because analog FM is terrible anyways even with factory antenna. Guess I was spoiled by 6 yr old basic VWs’ with HD radio. Mind boggling that any new vehicle built this decade doesn’t have HD radio, but I digress
I've always bought stubbies from Cravenspeed. Their quality is top notch and they are all a direct fit with no adapters. Just keep in mind that if you use AM/FM at all then you're not going to be happy with the reduced reception.
