Looking for recommendations that are cheaper than the M2M solution if one is available.
Currently running a -12 offset wheel and 37” tire, accompanied by the Hammerbuilt reinforcement. I have the Rotopax mount that I’d like to use but most certainly the can will hit the taillight with the door fully opened.

I think the M2M product looks good but $180

Does hammerbuilt not sell a limiter strut anymore? I know I just bundled it back when I got mine installed. It has worked pretty well thus far.

If it is no longer offered for some reason I might need to find a suitable replacement option myself.

I didn’t see one on their site.

I Second the war horse limiter. I previously bought A limiting strut, but the tension was too much. The war horse piece is a better solution.

I recommend this :) have had no issues with this product. The hammerbuilt strut was good but I noticed the same thing happening that popopatty had in that it start bending some of the metal on the tailgate since there was so much pressure from the strut.
I parked on a pretty off kilter spot while fishing last weekend.. let’s just say it was a real butt-pucker when a) trying to slow the gate down with a big heavy wheel/tire and B) closing it was more challenging than I’d like.
This seems like a great solution.

The plastic piece on the end of my Warhorse limiter seems to have chipped a little chunk off the inside and will no longer stay attatched to the ball mount. Warhorse does not seem to be around anymore. Is this a piece I can buy elsewhere and swap?

you can usually find replacement ball ends for those struts, does it have a part # on it?
