Then again, I've never been THIS plugged into a vehicle reveal before. Still, I've seen bake sales with a better roll-out plan.

Grey plastic mixed with black, that needs to be corrected.

I've read on the forum there's been several iterations of the MIC top. Ford supposedly changer & finalized the spec 4-6 weeks ago. So I'm assuming what you see on the colorizer is the product.

But what you see on old prototypes/photos may not be the current deal

It just doesn’t even look right and seriously, it looks cheap. Grey plastic mixed with black, that needs to be corrected.

It‘s clear, from Ford, the Molded Top will be Gray. Is that pic the final shade and/or is the pic color accurate? Unknown.

UnfortunateIy, I suspect for those with a refined aesthetic, the solution will be going upscale to get a painted top.

I do love the painted black top but unfortunately you have to move to the BL to get it as an option...
Time to re-evaluate the budget I guess.

In case my correct tone didn’t come across in the first post, I’m not complaining. Just theorizing that some of the confusion we’ve experienced as a forum, stems from those two vehicles and how they were presented.

If you’re picky about anything (aesthetically, particular option, etc. etc.), Ford has made staying at lower trim levels a real pain point for most everyone. Of course that was their intent.

Maybe they spent the customer communication strategy time figuring out how/what to restrict (and possibly what to make ugly - Gray hardtop?). Priorities, priorities.

I think you are pretty right on this one. I still do not understand why light interior colors are not offered, they gray is really nice.

Look, even Hyundai has some nice light interior colors and designs....

This is somewhat normal, I guess some didn't follow the Mach-E reveal by Ford. They tend to show a ton of "could/would/should". Hence why they take such a small deposit and give you a way out. However the shadow black top hardtop is available, a lift kit will absolutely be available (if not from Ford form a million other manf), the interior will be what you see later this year.

yeah, it jumped out at me - they said it was the word from Ford. Also, @ChrispyKC also mentioned a-waaaay back on or near reveal night that MT and Ford have a good relationship. There were some package errors in the story regarding standard 35s on BL, but it was a solid read if you’ve kept up on what our visiting “pros” have said.

Is this just from chatter on this site or someone half way “in the know”?
