Wasnt sure if they came the same or not
All Sasquatch (35's) = 4.7

Badlands , manual, non-squatch (33's) = 4.7

I think all other (non-Sq) manuals are 4.46.

Everything else kind of varies by options, model, etc.

Fairly certain all Black Diamonds (non-Sq) are 4.46, even the v6 , which would probably be fun to drive on those 31.5" tires !

I have a 2dr BD 2.3at with 4.46 with stock tires it would spin them really easy. I have a true 33" now (295/70r17) and its a great balance. I drove a friends 2dr BB with the v6 (assuming 3.73 gears) and it didnt feel much different on the low end. Never got a chance get to hwy speeds tho.

I have 2 Bronco's that drive noticeably different. They have the same engine and wheels.
Bronco 1: 2022 Badlands SAS, 2.7, 2 Door
Bronco 2: 2023 OBX, SAS, 2.7, 2 Door

The Badlands is much quicker and even sounds more aggressive. While it doesn't have Sport mode, it drives like is when in Normal.

Is there a reason for this and is there any easy way to test this other than feel?
thanks!
Track Addict is an Android application that will let you test 0-60 and 1/4 mile times. If you want to know if there are different PCM/ECU changes, you can use AsBuilt Explorer to explore the differences in modules and software.

Check to see the type of fuel is in each one. Premium fuel (92 octane or better) allows the ecu to change things like engine timing and fuel maps for better performance. I believe running the higher-octane fuel can be good for 30hp... dont quote me on that but it's close to that.

edit.. note that running the higher octane fuel won't be an "instant" performance change. It takes the ECU some time to learn the fuel maps and timing.

Was the Ford Performance Tune done on either one?
Made a big difference for my 2.3T 7MT Base Model 2-Door!

Probably some difference in the tuning/programming.

My 2.3 4dr Badlands non-Squatch , the pedal lag is freaking horrible. Trying to cross a busy roadway is an exercise in terror when you stomp on the pedal and it just thinks about it for a moment while you roll slowly into the intersection ... then it jumps from under you like it was .... horse whipped.

It's not turbo lag, a 7.3L Powerstroke diesel defines turbo lag, this is something else. I've driven other 4cyl turbos, this is a tuning issue.
The 2.7L is the same way. I run mine in Eco mode to tone down the accelerator response because the behavior in Normal is:

"I see you have pressed the gas. Oh, okay... I'll get around to it eventuallyLETS FUCKING GO!!!!!"

Maybe the 22 is more broken in than the 23? How many miles are on both? They are mechanically the same, however the badlands weighs more with the steel bumpers and extra skid plates.

This is the way the wife's Explorer Timberline is. It has the 2.3 10spd AT. It also has one hell of a delay between drive and reverse that I do not care for either.

My Bronc on the other hand, totally different story.

I thought I was one of the few to notice this. LOL I found it really annoying when it seems so sluggish when first taking off and then HOLD ON! Eco mode seems to balance it out better for me as well.

I have a Badlands, and I would say that it's because the Badlands is more BadASS.
But I may be biased...

The reason the 2-door is slower is due to the massive wind resistance caused by cheering hottie’s waving their panties at the stud driving the 2-door.
This is true, I regularly have to clear my front windshield from this type of debris.

The more aggressive sound you describe may be tricking your mind into thinking it's faster. I believe the Outer Banks has additional sound insulation. That may explain the sound difference.

If course you could test your perception by taking them to a track and running then in the quarter mile. Worth the expense and effort? Probably not.
*Worth the fun? Definitely.
