You mean the MOD top PLUS the $1800 upgrade, so more like $5k to $6k for the oem painted top. Ford hasn't ever sold a painted top for $1800.

FORD paid me $1800 to have the modular painted hardtop I had originally ordered in the dual top option removed from my order. That's where I get the $1800 figure and what , if Ford offered the tops to us through wholegoods, they should cost.

If Ford had knocked $5000-$6000 off my price I might be more inclined to buy an aftermarket hard roof for up to $7500 but that is still more than the cost of my entire 4 years in college
