So I once heard a really solid argument for doing car mods as quickly as possible instead of putting them off that I've taken to heart. Basically the earlier you can do it, the longer period you'll be able to spread the cost of enjoyment over, instead of enjoying it for a short period before passing it on to the next owner.

So what I'm saying is go gangbusters now.

That's quite the savings over what I can find.

I want to add one more thing which is the fully loaded Braptor option. I can't find it on the interweb so i have no Golden Ticket. Anyone else in this boat.

Armor!

The Mabett 4dr skid fits the 2dr just fine. It doesn't give up any significant clearance. I kept the bar from the disco skid for a little more protection.

I skipped the included hardware and reused the OEM bolts. The included conical bolt protectors are aluminum and would be smashed into the bolt heads instantly, making the next removal a major chore.

There appears to still be enough room to snake my arm up to replace the oil filter, so I shouldn't have to remove the skid too often.

One of the frame rail captured nuts for the t-case skid broke free. I'm going to have go back and try to fish a wrench in there to replace it some day.

Do you think this would work on the 2.7 as well?

It's hit and miss what they have. I would have liked to get the 12.5 wide model but beggars can't be choosy.

I believe you'd have to trim your frame braces.

Bias ply tires........got them on my 72 thinking about it on the 22. Can't wait to hear about handling and what air pressure you run on the street.

P.S. if it sits over a week they will flat spot bad

These are going to be my new play tires, they won't get street driven much.
