Freak, no kidding. There is still a lot of stuff I want. This damn rig is such a black hole for money. Five 37x14.50x17 Interco SX2s ordered up for $1800 shipped.
So I once heard a really solid argument for doing car mods as quickly as possible instead of putting them off that I've taken to heart. Basically the earlier you can do it, the longer period you'll be able to spread the cost of enjoyment over, instead of enjoying it for a short period before passing it on to the next owner. You're a maniac! I've set goals for myself. I've paused any spending for the entire next year as I have everything I need to wheel. I will go gangbusters going into 2024.

So what I'm saying is go gangbusters now.
Armor!
The Mabett 4dr skid fits the 2dr just fine. It doesn't give up any significant clearance. I kept the bar from the disco skid for a little more protection.
I skipped the included hardware and reused the OEM bolts. The included conical bolt protectors are aluminum and would be smashed into the bolt heads instantly, making the next removal a major chore.
There appears to still be enough room to snake my arm up to replace the oil filter, so I shouldn't have to remove the skid too often.
One of the frame rail captured nuts for the t-case skid broke free. I'm going to have go back and try to fish a wrench in there to replace it some day.
Oh man, I can't wait to see what those look like on your rig. I've been debating ordering those exact tires for my 1970 Bronco.
Where did you get them from?

But anyways, as someone who doesn't follow his guidance so much, can you share where the Interco tire sale was made?
That's quite the savings over what I can find.
Mayhap a guy can get his hands on a set of 36x13.50x17 IROK radials from the same source....
I believe you'd have to trim your frame braces.Do you think this would work on the 2.7 as well?
Bias ply tires........got them on my 72 thinking about it on the 22. Can't wait to hear about handling and what air pressure you run on the street. This damn rig is such a black hole for money. Five 37x14.50x17 Interco SX2s ordered up for $1800 shipped.
These are going to be my new play tires, they won't get street driven much.Bias ply tires........got them on my 72 thinking about it on the 22. Can't wait to hear about handling and what air pressure you run on the street.
P.S. if it sits over a week they will flat spot bad
What are you doing for wheels for these?https://www.intercotire.com/blem_list_0
It's hit and miss what they have. I would have liked to get the 12.5 wide model but beggars can't be choosy.
