Does anyone know if it is possible to turn off the honk when the key is outside the vehicle but the vehicle is running with Forscan? This drives me crazy as it always honks right when I walk by the horn.

Thanks for the below Forscan info! @D2dhanover
Double Horn Honk disableBCM726-63-02xxx0xxxxxx--disables double honk when exiting running vehicle

Alternative method

Open the configuration tool and select the module BdyCM. Scroll down until you find "Double Honk on leaving cabin". Change to disable, write, restart vehicle and verify it no longer honks.

Don't fully close the door when you get out or leave the key inside. Those are the only options I have found so far besides using forscan. I wish there was another way.

It’s a safety feature, so they’re not going to make it simple to deactivate it.

I never understood why people leave their cars running and walk away from it. If it’s that hot or cold out, get out, remote start your vehicle, and do your errand.

Just wait until you want to work on your vehicle and need to leave it running while getting in and out. Or hopping out to switch seats with the wife or something. It's that short little trip around the car thatll getcha.

It's incredibly loud and just delayed enough to get ya right in the earhole as soon as you walk by.

My poor, poor neighbors..

This little feature is annoying in an urban environment, but would really be bad when "viewing" wildlife.

Had mine for a week, and it never honked until I pocket smooshed the panic button and now it honks even time. Time to kill.

This crap has made me jump a few times already. Definitely can’t wait to turn it off.
