@Ford Motor Company

Ford: OMG there are a handful of dealers offering Bronco discounts, exceptional customer service and a high res name to sale ratio. Quick! Somebody change the allocation formula so they get less Broncos!

Also Ford:. OMG there are a handful of dealers ordering Broncos under fake names so they can sell at outrageous ADM's. These guys are also pricing res holders out of their Broncos to sell at ADM's. Quick! Someone change the name match policy so these dealers can still get Broncos!

I think that about sums up the over reactionary nature of Ford.

Have you guys ever heard of a company called Jeep? I hear they make a better off roader than Ford. Oh, and you can just walk into any lot and buy one with no wait.
With Ford messing up BIG TIME, I bet Jeep is just rolling laughing 😂 and going to gain a lot of new customers.

@Ford Motor Company you Fu***d up!

Well ford couldnt pull through. I get it. How does granger get priority over everyone else. They shouldnt. So granger trusted ford and buyers trusted granger. Its a lose lose and im trying to be fair about this. I dont think ford is right for doing what they did. Why do you think granger should get put ahead of the line because they over sold and they did. Lets be honest about this and not mad. Many have stated during the ordering process to pass up ordering from granger to avoid this in the past. I do read, i just dont remember all that i do. Too much to take in on this forum over the years.
Dude, where have you been for the past 2 years? This is not about Granger. It's about the CUSTOMERS with early timestamps who have orders with Granger, or any other dealer (I'm at Stephens). We were PROMISED by Ford that they would build our Broncos in timestamp order. That was patently false. There is no way they actually had the intention to do so, but they left us with that false impression for quite a long time.

It is you who is not being honest about this issue, not the people who are upset. I was also told I could order a MOD top, but that's not going to happen for 2 more years. I guess I should be happy about that as well?

id say Ford DOES care if dealers sell under MSRP or invoice. In their perfect scenerio they maket and market a great product that drives customers into the dealer, the dealer then gets a good healthy price with no need to discount the price. When i dealer on the west side of town is known as the low price leader all the other ford dealers in town complain to their ford regional manager that the low price leader is "ruining" the market, no one can get top dollar because that guy sells to low. That is, for a fact, what happens, so the Ford regionals have to have discussions with those low price leaders and tell them that Ford makes a great product there is no need to sell under MSRP etc. There are degrees as to which this happens but this is FOR SURE how it goes down. So in theory, if every ford dealer began to feel as though they cant sell fords for a good profit because of the local "low price leader" those dealers will not sell ford, OR the will order more Toyotas into their neighboring dealership, and tell the Ford regional that they "make money" on Toyota, not on ford.
For sure how it goes down? Is this Farley's secret account?

So you expect Ford to build all reserved orders first for granger over stock orders for the other dealers. What did the other dealers do to not be able to order vehicles to sell. Granger bit off more then they can chew and many buyers bought into it. Blame granger not Ford.
No - I actually want Ford to properly spread allocations among all orders. Then every dealer would be getting their percentage of orders of each month's production (more or less, based on commodities, etc). So, Granger's 1000 orders would be filled alongside another dealer's 100 orders and another dealer's 10 orders. If it takes 10 months to do it all, Granger would get 100 orders each month, dealer 2 10 orders each month, and dealer 3 would get 1 order each month.

I don't care what's "fair" to the dealers. I care what's fair to the customers. This isn't a normal vehicle production order. This was billed as a customer-centric reservation and order process. Punishing customers for seeking out good value and customer service is bad form from Ford.

On top of all that, we're not talking about shutting down the plant for all other dealers. Heck, at current production rates MAP could build (again, caveat for commodity constraints) all of Granger's orders in 2-3 days.

So, I guess yes, I want Ford to build all reserved orders for EVERYONE, including Granger, before building stock for dealers who don't have any, or have fulfilled all, order holders.

Oh, and I meant to respond specifically to this: other dealers didn't offer as much value (price, service, whatever else people value) to the customer as Granger did and/or didn't market that value effectively.

There was nothing stopping any other dealer in the country from matching Granger's prices, or providing even better service, or marketing the heck out of the opportunity to order with them.

And just to be clear, my order being built in a couple weeks isn't with Granger. I just think Ford is hosing this up for real customers, and I'd prefer they build loyalty because I want the Bronco program to be successful.

If I wanted a damn Jeep- I would have bought one. But I want a Bronco- period. Not just any Bronco- but the Bronco I selected and specked out. So I wait patiently. Did Ford lie to its reservation holders- certainly ! Did dealers screw customers- certainly ! And yet- do I still want my Bronco- certainly !

So, how can people who have a reservation that is not converted to an order yet figure out what dealer to order with? I didn't reserve until July 2021, so I'm WAY behind everyone. But It would nice to get a 2022, which I know isn't happening. But in the current model, if I keep my reservation with SAC, (I haven't seen the numbers from SAC yet, but I assume it's similar to Granger) I would be LUCKY to get a Bronco by the end of 2023. Unless I want a 4 door Big Bend 4 cylinder.

Do we simply ask the Dealer what their allocation for 2022 is, how many 2021 orders they have that aren't getting built in 2021, how many reservations they have that still need to be converted to an order in 2022? Then, if they have any open allocations, swap your reservation to them and order?

I asked 3 or 4 dealers locally what their allocation was and the above questions earlier this year and never got a straight answer, let alone actual factual numbers.

Sooo I guess I’m going to have to get an extended warranty on my 2018 Explorer before my 3 years/36k miles hit esp. if I’m looking at another year or more before I see my Bronco…I’m not even close to 36k miles (thank you, Covid!) I thought about if I want to give up the ghost on this and I really don’t - unless Toyota does something off the charts with the 2023 4 Runner redesign. I’m just gonna wait.
You still have a powertrain warranty. Do you not trust it past the bumper/bumper?

Imagine thinking a dealership in Iowa is the problem… lmfao. They have 1100 ish reservations/orders. If Ford builds what they say they’ll build, in 2022, it’s a drop in the bucket. This has nothing to do with Granger and its customers, it has everything to do with high volume dealers wanting to stay fat with zero effort. Ford sided with their big boy dealers and went away from their reservation system (Tesla model).

Seems straight forward to me what happened. Ford back tracked from their initial statements to whatallocation they released for 2022. It’s in black and white how Ford has back pedaled in this situation. Who do you all think was the squeaky wheel that wanted greased? Simplest answer: Large Volume lazy dealerships who want what they want and right damn now, so they can mark the Bronco up $20k. That’s how I see it.

So in the grand scheme of things the biggest thing I'm interested in is how many orders where actually received when it went up and then crashed and ran like complete crap for hours.

I was fortunate enough to get my order in within the first 45 minutes or so.

I went with a local dealership and I was number 2 with my order in January, behind an employee that worked there. My Bronco is currently on a train at the moment with an expected delivery in a few weeks.

If Ford got 80-100K orders with in the first 12 hours of the reservations going live and got 75% competition to order of those, its just basic math that people who ordered a few days later would get screwed, then add in commodity issues with higher trims and the MIC top production issues, its plain to see that people are going to get "hurt" on this.
