And another look - tube doors on @jedmisten's Bronco.

Never understood the point of tube doors, nor the expense. People afraid they’re going to go flying from the vehicle laterally? You go through the trouble of taking your doors off only to put some welded pipes in the way?

In my mind it's more about side impact intrusion and creating some protection from that unfortunate situation.

I’m personally fine with no doors, but my wife, being partially disabled, needs that door to hold onto.

Not sure if these qualify as “doors” in states/provinces where it’s illegal to drive doorless?

That was at SEMA last year. It's from Havoc or Truck Hero. Don't know if they are on the market yet.

This was at the Ford's Chicago Auto Show setup this past February. I dont like the aesthetics of these particular tube doors but it's nice to have an open door feel with the peace of mind of a steel barrier against cabin intrusion

People not understanding the use or expense.......not sure what to say, there are endless things like this for vehicles you can spend money on through Ford or aftermarket, just personal taste obviously.

I like it for going doorless if you're driving a ways to get to your off roading destination including highway miles, or some people just like to roll around town like that for a more open feel. Gives you something to rest your arm on too.

Looks great.

Is that a piece of black trim on the front door jamb or is that how it looks from factory when the door is removed? I've seen others complain about the unfinished paint job in that door jamb so wondering if they provide a solution in the tube door kit for that.

Hello Mr. Grasso,
So after putting them on, do you still wish you didn't have to pick them up from the dealer? I have had the same thoughts on why would I not just not have doors on. Kind of the point to having the mirrors attached to the hood. But I have a 7 year old that may freak out. Just curious. Thanks!

I thought I wanted tube doors until I drove around with the doors off. I’m perfectly happy with nothing. Might want to give it a go sans doors before dropping this much on tubes. I could see it for kids in the back, but I prefer it open.
I mean the tube doors are there for safety though. You definitely don't want to get hit from the side with no doors, that's our only concern.

I ride a motorcycle to work every day the weather allows. I’m safer in the Bronco with the doors off. If the allusion of safety is what you need though, get them.

I like resting my arms on them and if the kids are strapped in the back they feel a bit safer.

I would definitely want them on the rear for the kids.
