I love your posts and thoughts on these forums you are someone that just gets it and thanks for always helping out forum members
Thanks!

Now for a little additional information, I did a frequency sweep test from 20-200 Hz, the rear pods had signal from approximately 150 Hz and above on the B&O system.

The front speakers didn't seem to have any significant limitations (other than the speakers lowest frequency response) kind of hard to tell because without disconnecting the kick panel speakers and testing, I can't isolate the speakers in the dash.

I'm sure this is a very beaten dead horse, but what have people gone with to upgrade their stock speakers.
Iā€™ve been really pleased with my upgrades and I spent around $800 including professional install of the sub-woofer and kick panel speakers.

1. Kick panel speakers - KICKER - KS Series 6-1/2" 2-Way Car Speakers with Polypropylene Cones (Pair) - Black ($129 at Best Buy)
2. Front dash and rear pod - KICKER - KS Series 4" 2-Way Car Speakers (Pair) - Black ($99/pair Best Buy)
3. Subwoofer- KICKER - Hideaway 8" Subwoofer with Enclosure and Integrated 150W Amplifier - Black
4. Metra Electronics 72-5602 4-Way Speaker Harness Connector for Ford & Mazda Vehicles, Multi Color (Amazon $10 for the kick panel speakers)
5. Metra 72-5600 Ford Speaker Harness 1998-UP (Amazon $6 for the dash and rear pods. They fit weird but work great)

The kick panel covers have REALLY fragile clips - I broke the drivers side so gave up and decided to hire a pro to install the kick panel speakers and the sub. He was excited to work on a new Bronco so I suggested he give me a deal and Iā€™d refer people to him. $200 for the install.

I also stuffed poly fill below the dash speakers and in the pods. It really made the sound richer than without. It was around Christmas time so I had a bag of extra fake snow and used it. šŸ˜‚

Weā€™ve had a rather warm week so Iā€™ve been enjoying the top flipped down and the stereo sounds great. Donā€™t even need to go above 15 to make my 15 year old music-loving daughter embarrassed with how loud it is!

I hope this helps!

I'll put the tweeters in the dash and 6.5s in the kick panels the the 4s in the pods. I may build my own pods and put a coaxial 6.5 in them. The sub is powered and puts out 20 watts per channel to the speakers. Has a built in equalizer that you access from a phone or laptop. I may end up running everything thru an audio control line converter if the pod speakers don't perk up with the alpine sub/amplifier. I've used Alpine since the early 80s and never had a bit of trouble.

It's just my plan right now. Still waiting for the Bronco to be built and shipped. My plan is to use the sub box that it comes with and swap out the subwoofer.
