Awesome! I have rebuilt many classic 8274 winches. I contemplated putting one on the front of my Bronco but I just like the clean front look and can't bring myself to do it so I opted for converting the next best winch, Ramsey 9500UT, to a remote solenoid version and mount it with a hidden winch mount.

Here is my latest 8274 refurb on my 1993 Land Cruiser using a Trail Gear bumper center section and a OBS Chevy pickup mount.

Like most of you I waited 2 years for my bronco. Buying parts and stacking them in the shop impatiently waiting to receive my new toy. I ordered my 2DR with the factory winch set up but ford zeroed it and my bronco went into production. Ok no biggie right? So I have had a few LOD bumpers over the years and have been happy. So I ordered the LOD defender. Then onto the winch? I think the ole 8274 would look killer on the new bronco. Ok now comes the head aches. The 8274 mounts from the front not the bottom. Out comes the torch to open the top of the bumper to clear the side gear of the winch. Then onto building up the bumper where I modified it to accept the 8274. With some 3/8”steel I was able to pick up the top 2 mounting holes and really beef up the bumper where I weakened it by cutting the top out. I also added a camera mount and fabricated an ACC mount to relocate it under the bumper.

This mount may be helpful to you that are looking to make something for this awesome winch. I just purchased one and I am installing it on my JK since I took the Ramsey winch from it for the Bronco.

switching to Rope and a smooth alumium fairlead will lighten that up a bit.
I’m not a big fan of the rope. I have found over the last 30 years of wheeling and recovery that wire rope will survive the abrasions over granite rocks ,trees etc. It will also outlast the rope in the battle of sun and test of time.

Thank you for a quality product. When I ordered your bumper I was still pissed ford zeroed my winch and I was stuck with the mod bumper and no winch. Also I’m not a huge fan of fords winch mount on there bumper it just doesn’t look like it was thought out? Your bumper has some clean lines. Then the 8274 came into my brain how cool would that be on a new retro bronco. I had to cut the gusset on the passenger side out to clear the gear. Had to cut the front and your name plate out(sorry) fortunately for me the fairlead holes are perfect to pick up the bottom two mounting holes of the winch. Please pm me if you would like any more pictures or measurements from my mods to your awesome bumper
