Has anyone here actually relocated the differential breathers?

That image says they are higher then the fording depth so we ashould be good.

But does anyone know how far above?

Think its worth moving them even higher incase you go an inch or so over the depth?

I'm pretty sure that anything above 3ft on a stock non lifted vehicle you start to experience vehicle floating.

Is this too much? Didn’t think about the transmission?

That’s only about 18” should be fine not even touching the transmission yet

I'm sure it's on the board somewhere...but have we discovered where the top of the tubes are actually located for diffs, trans, and t-case?

Here are the vent locations and as you can see, the trans/transfer case aren't very high. You could extend these up to the highest point in your engine compartment (we did this with mine vehicles that had problems with canister vents getting plugged up from running in the mud 24/7) but you will probably have issues with other things trying to go deeper. Water ingestion at the air cleaner flapper valve would be the big one, not to mention electrical connectors.

Fact, seals are designed to hold fluid in. They are a one way flapper valve that tend to keep most of the water out. If you want to dunk your bronco you should be changing your fluids fairly often.

People focus to much on the vents, the vents become an issue when you stop and as components cool the suck in air or water. If in motion not really a big deal unless they are funneling water in.

Need to look at the EVAP setup next.

Big thing that's also not talked about is oil and grease displacement. All the tensioners and idlers on the front of the motor get splashed it helps work the grease out of the bearings. Same goes for any part rotating in a wet environment.
