I own a tire shop. Here's my two cents on wheels. First of all, for an off road vehicle like a Jeep, Tacoma, Bronco etc the height of the tire should be at least twice as tall as the wheel. So if you're gonna run 35s, go with a 17 inch wheel (not 18s and absolutely not 20s). Run low profile tires and you'll lose all trail cred. On my 06 Rubicon I run 33 inch tall tires with 15 inch wheels. The look is rugged and when you air down the tall sidewalls give you amazing grip and comfort over the bumps.
As mentioned above, Method Racing makes a good wheel as does Black Rhino, Fuel, Moto Metal, KMC, TIS, etc.
The wheel industry is somewhat monopolized. Over the past couple years Wheel Pros has purchased their two major competitors MHT and TSW. They now own about 40 different major wheel brands. As far as which are better, stronger etc it's difficult to say. Most name brands are prob manufactured in the same factories (China) so there are little difference as far as quality goes. I would say tho that you do want to get a name brand wheel. We've had customers bring in cheap wheels that are knock off brands and sometimes they are egg shaped and therefore tires cannot be properly balanced.
There's my two cents for now. Hope it helped somebody.
