Hmm

šŸ¤” I’ll have to google/YouTube for installation info.
Before you buy just make sure your existing visor has the lighted mirror. I don't know what the solution is if there isn't power in the A-pillar.

I just click the button on the remote. Garage door opens. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

Admittedly I don't give a hoot about home automation, seems all very overpriced for practically no benefit. But do HomeLink garage door openers not have an old-school remote?? Seems kinda silly.
They have a remote. I like the smart device just to have the ability to let people into my home if I am not there and do not have to toss around keys.

Helpful with trusted repair men or dog sitters.

Good point. Mine has the mirrored vanity light mirror.

I've got the Meross smart garage opener. I got the home with homekit and it integrates right with carplay. Anytime I get within 1/4 mile of the house, the button to open the door pops up on carplay's homescreen. Just a tap and voila!
I didn’t know about the feature where the door open button pops up when you’re close. Cool!

i was surprised to discover my new Bronco doesn’t have HomeLink.

I park in the driveway, but I go in through the garage, so having a garage door remote the car is ideal.

Because it’s parked in the driveway, I probably don’t want to leave a fob in there since if someone gets into the car, they can get into the house. It’s unlikely, but still…

I looked at replacement visors and mirrors, but they’re pricey.

It looks like I’m down to Meross, Tailwind or Genie Connect. It seems that all of those rely on having your phone with you which is OK I guess.

What are others doing?
Get the myQ app. The hub is around 20 dollars. You can use your phone and add people to your account to open your garage door.

I replaced my lighted visor with the Homelink version. It's not the cheapest solution, but it's the cleanest. Buy once, cry once... enjoy it for the rest of your Bronco ownership.

+1 to the Toyota homelink mirror. Super easy to install and it's frameless so it looks better than the factory mirror too.

I use Alexa and have an app (Meros) on my phone as a back up.

If you have powered visor mirrors, you can just buy the visor with the homelink.
Not the cheapest option, but the cleanest.
I was always planning on doing that, even through the Bronco does get parked in the garage - so I don't have a problem leaving the remote clipped to the visor.
My daily driver gets parked in the driveway, it also does not have homelink, so I have one of the coded remotes by the garage door.
Also, I can control the garage door from an app on my phone.
So, a few things you already mentioned, but that's what I'm doing.
The app on my phone that operates my Liftmaster motor is called MyQ, I think. And they are IDIOTS for not integrating their app into Carplay by now.
If I could open it from Car Play, I honestly think that would probably just be the best solution.
I have two Liftmasters with MyQ and they both work perfectly with Carplay as you simply have to add the opener to your IOS Homekit App and the door symbol will appear on Carplay anytime you are within about 1 km from your home. For older openers you just need to buy the MyQ bridge. The range is awesome as I can open or close my garage doors via Carplay almost 1 km from home.
