probably a dumb question, but what color is it? Could it be painted easily if the sound deadener is not there?

Thank you sir, I will keep thinking on this and if I go that way, will keep folks posted - how is your top holding up? looks great, I follow you on Youtube! This sounds like an interesting project. I think it could be done, but it will be a lot of work. You will want to use some kind of base primer before you paint for sure, and the latches and hinges and other thing like these that attach to the top, you will have to either paint or paint around and the latter might look strange. If you do it please post pictures!
This made me laugh (with all due respect). The last Wrangler I bought had the craplastic hardtop with an unpainted bright white interior. First things I did to the Jeep were rhino line the outside, then same shop painted the inside a medium gray, added sound deadening, and installed HotHead headliners. Made a world of difference in the winter. Glad to hear I won't need to paint the interior again but I love the quality of the HotHead liners. As far as the paint rubbing off, really no. I see spots under the roof the are starting to show small areas of scuffing where it contacts the body but nothing you see when it's on the Jeep. The painting was done by a professional auto body shop. Have not seen my Bronco yet (it's taking a ride on a train as we speak) so I have no idea what I will need to do to the roof once it gets here. Rhino lining really "toughen" the roof up as the roof (at least in the jeeps case) is very fragile and easily damaged if it's off the vehicle. On the vehicle (rhino lining) helps prevent "trail rash".Thanks, I appreciate that and figured as much. When I finally get mine and paint it white, gonna paint the inside too. Brighten the cabin.
Cool, thanks! The wrap is starting to bubble in some places...video coming shortly.Thank you sir, I will keep thinking on this and if I go that way, will keep folks posted - how is your top holding up? looks great, I follow you on Youtube!
