I looked in the index and I do at the dash clusters but I see no reference to the mpg value that is displayed. The analog gauge goes up/down but the value is stuck on 17.8

Do I need to reset it?

The user manual leaves a bit to be desired.

It's a running average based on the previous XXX number of miles. I vaguely remember it being based on the previous 500 km (311 miles), but could be wrong about that. As far as I know it cannot be reset.

You can, however, reset the trip counter. The trip counter has its own MPG gauge which keeps track of the MPG for that particular trip.

The MPG value can be reset. I reset mine right after delivery.

Mine is dead set on 19.5, but in all fairness it's a daily driver with BF Goodrich KO2s. I'll let y'all know when I've figured out the magical coast in neutral (mine is a manual) so that I finally reach 19.6 mpg.

I think you're thinking of the miles to E calculator?

On your mpg screen hold down OK for about 5 seconds and it will reset. Once you've driven thousands of miles it will appear stuck because small real time changes are a tiny fraction of the cumulative data. After a reset it will fluctuate a lot more for a while.

The green circle around 17.8 is your real time mileage.

Nah I was thinking of the MPG screen. I've never been able to get it to reset, but I'll admit I didn't really try all that hard.

I would have assumed it resets similarly to the Trip counter, so if you have to hold it down longer than that... very real possibility I just didn't hold it down long enough. Will try it tomorrow.

There's a little green meter that fills up as you old OK down to let you know you did it long enough.

I think the miles to E is a rolling calculation based off a certain period, and 500km would make sense. I've had mine as low as 150 after a fill up. 😬

I'm pretty sure the mpg will keep averaging for eternity to the point where you can floor it up a mountain pass getting 3 mpg and it won't budge.

I reset the mpg count after I fill an empty tank. I try to beat my previous score. Usually get about 18mpg ( daily driver, highway commute at 70mph).

Sometimes I switch to the psi screen so I hyper fixate on tire pressure instead. I need to give up on thinking someday my Bronco will be pulling 20+ mpg. It’s a 5k lb brick on wheels….not a hybrid.

Mine is optimistic by 1.8 mpg. If it says 21 and I check it at the pump, I actually got 19.2.

How? I went through most of the menus last night but did not find anywhere to reset. Not saying it isn't in there, just not readily apparent to me.

Can you post a pic of where you are looking? Because on mine if it's on the trip screen I can hold down ok and it will reset all the info including mpg, and if I'm on the average mpg screen it works the same.

Trying to remember. I remember it was easy. You might try being on the regular screen, not one of the trip screens then holding down the OK button just as you would when resetting trip mileage.

I’ve always wondered how the ”MILES TO EMPTY” is measured/calculated. Are there weight sensors on the fuel tank?

To reset the trip odometer, hold down the 'OK' button on the stering wheel. There will be a green led bar at the bottom of the gauge that will light from left to right. Hold the button until the strip is fully lit, and it resets.

I figure it uses fuel flow data (or injector pulse width) and the odometer. If it knows how much fuel is/has been used, and the distance, it can calculate mpg.
