Which Credit Union are you using?

What credit union are you joining if your work is not affiliated with a credit union. Are there credit Unions that anyone can join. If so what are you using?

Many credit unions allow you to be a member if you live in the area or have an extended family member that is part of it. If you call some local to you, you will find that they are pretty easy to be part of. Banks don't usually like to turn down people with money or people with loan needs.

DCU. You have to donate like $10 to one of their charities then you can join. They were doing 1.49 when I signed up in Jan, I'm sure it's gone up a little but they're probably still the best rate.

I've been a member with Navy Federal Credit Union since 1993. (I got 2.04% for 72 months)

In that time they've expanded their eligibility to the other branches. USAA now admits Enlisted personnel as well.

If you've got someone who's military, it is worth checking.

Service Credit Union, locked in 1.99% that is good until 4 August with them. Now up to 2.49%.
Been with them since 1984, no issues at all and they get all my business.

Only question now is will my Bronco arrive before 4 Aug!

If you live in Michigan or Florida Lake Michigan CC is a great place to get a loan and anyone can join all you need to do is open a savings account and they pay 3% on your checking account with no min balance.

If you live in the state of CA, you can join Golden1 Credit Union (full disclosure, I work for them) - not sure what the rates are, but of course they vary based on your credit, terms of loan, etc
