So any opinions on whether I should update or not? I have 4.0.22294.
Thanks

And what does it say on your Bronco Settings screen under "Update Details" ?
Maybe can check later when home
I'll check it and let you know. I'm sure it's reporting the same thing as my Bronco though.

Your version is very close to mine. I’m thinking NO update right now unless you start experiencing problems. My wireless CarPlay is working fine (other than one odd but very temporary Spotify issue that cleared itself up quickly) as is all else so I’m staying put for a while.

I’m only running 4.2.1.1. Every time I check for an update it says none are available. I’m hooked up to WiFi, have auto updates enabled and have an update schedule set. Why aren’t I receiving the newer updates everyone here seems to have?

Updates are rolled out. Not everyone will get them at the same time. I’m sure a lot of people are still behind 4.2.1.1

Right, that says you have 4.2.2 waiting to be installed.

So it just goes to show how screwed up this all is...

When I look at Update history in the app, it seems to suggest like I'm waiting for 4.2.2 to be installed. (See my previous screenshot)

When I use that web link...it reports back I have Version 4.0.23159 which sounds like people are saying it means 4.2.3. however that same web link says I'm configured for Auto Updates which I am not.

Then when I go into the app and look at my message center, I have two messages that congratulate me for being updated.... Now here's the kicker...

one message is dated july 17th, and the other is dated Sept 16th but they both state 4.2.2 in the details!

so my history suggest I NEED 4.2.2, the website leads me to believe I have 4.2.3, and my messages say I've gotten 4.2.2 twice, 2 months apart.

awesome job! Who gets employee of the month for this?!?!

LOL, right? Software is hard, especially systems software, especially distributed mission critical systems connected via flaky networks. I don't know why you're getting so many different notices, except something has happened somewhere that is either misleading or incorrect and some systems think X but Y has occurred.

Ford appears to be doing A/B rollouts, where some consumers get updates in lieu of everyone, then based on observing those early-access results, more updates are rolled out. I think someone stated there are 5k configurations of Broncos that are possible. The fact it works at all is kind've mind boggling. At least until it doesn't.

If you think about it, making all this easier to comprehend for the layman would itself be a project and probably another module. It's just crazy when you think of the complication inherent in managing this stuff. Thanks Tesla for proving OTA updates so that all carmakers could get in on the software goldrush.

Back in the day, we would have said restart and let us know. At worst, wipe and reinstall. I don't imagine that's really an option with cars. All of this is a big reason why I've shied away from ForScan. I just hope the 12" screen continues to work in 10 years.

Yeah it doesn't seem like anything matches. Without a detailed description of what all has been changed in each update it really makes no difference either way though. All it does is give a generic idea of what the update includes usually. I could still be at 4.2.0 and I wouldn't think anything is different 🤷‍♂️

Okay, in your Wildtrak you're not seeing any problems w Ford Power-Up 4.2.3
Nope, none at all. If anything the carplay has been working a little better than in the past.
