dunno why you'd gun it like that.
Simple, young, dumb and full of...

The thrill from the skinny pedal is too much for them.

Due to a rookie spotter I gouged my right front fender flare and both right side wheel rings. Another spotter, who's husband was on 40"s and she sent me through the same path he went and she had me banging my sliders on boulders; I now have new sliders, the fender flare I just heated and smoothed as best I could, oh well. 😉
Very similar experience. Not blaming it on the spotter, but the guy ramroding the ride and I had different ideas as to a beginner rock crawl trail.

In the pic in my avatar I actually had the passenger door handle crunched up against a tree. Door handle is cheap enough, but it pushed the door skin in pretty good! Also crunched a taillight on a tree that same day. The trees up north must miss me?

A character from a comic strip once popular with Boomers and Gen X used to have regular interaction with "The Kite Eating Tree." Haven't thought about that for years until your experience with Bronco Eating Trees.

Yeah all the rollbar bags and bags in the front seats popped. They did their job though, my passenger stated it was like rolling over onto a pillow. No injuries, so all good in my book.

I can relate to that.

Beginner, average... what's acceptable damage.

Acceptable? I'd rather none, but the fender flare wasn't too upsetting, and it was a teaching moment for my buddy and me... AND the guy who stopped in the wrong place on the trail.; he admitted to blocking. My friend learned to see the whole picture, back left corner v. front right corner, AND there's always reverse when it not working. I learned to "just stop!" and get out and instruct, back up a bit if necessary too, but don't let someone put you into a root or rock because you WANT them to be right.

Slid backwards into a small tree on a steep hill in the woods one night.
First time having it out in snow and ice.
Glad it was just the tail light.

For sure not the worst on here!
