Any reasonable explanations for Ford not having their performance tune released? I like some of the aftermarket ones but worry about Warranty issues.

I’m going to be getting the 2.3 as well in my OBX. Wondering what the tune would do for it? I’d be interested in getting it as well if it boosts HP/Torque

I believe the tune would add both, if not why would anyone buy it

does anyone make a tune that doesn’t add either?

Yeah, good point. Just wasn’t sure whether it added one or the other. Never really messed around with a tune before. Do you know what kind of numbers it generally adds, or too early to tell at this point?

If you're worried about warranty, the best tuner on the market right now is the JB4 from Burger Motorsports. We've installed it, street tested it, dyno tested it, and over was super impressed by the ease and the gains! Although the testing filmed was done on a 2.7, there have been similar gains from 2.3 Models as well. Best part is it's untraceable by dealers and Ford, as well as isn't effected by Over the Air Updates. Plug and Play, and if you have to go to the dealer, install and uninstall takes about 5-10 minutes.

Not sure on what Ford is going to come out with, but usually their tuning is fairly conservative, even when offering as an aftermarket option through Ford Performance, as well as not having any features that would allow monitoring of the vehicle and whatnot.

If it we're my Bronco, if I had the option of either or, based on what Ford has offered in the past, the JB4 would be my choice hands down.

Because it’s not Q2 2022 yet. Ask this question in July.

I would prefer a flash tune, like 5Star's for the 2.7L. At least I can turn off auto start/stop and change final drive/tire size as well flashing the tune in one go.

You can do that with Forscan.

I know, but if I'm planning on getting a tune anyways, I'd rather not have to get another handheld device/harness and play with hex codes.

But you can do such more and the Forscan handheld is less than $50. It's a must have if you are really into the ins and outs of your vehicle.

It’s not out yet like it was mentioned Q2 thus year and it will be more targeted toward off-road torque than hp.
