I like to be plugged in for various reasons, not least of which is charging. As I had mentioned previously, I like to keep turn by turn instructions up there. I'll use wireless when I am feeling lazy but on long road trips, plugging in I feel is mandatory.

Ok...let's play. Where do you put your keys?
Okay, Iā€˜m in. Keys are in my front pocket (I only have 3 keys including the fob). My phone goes in the cup holder, and I plug it in with a short, custom cable (for better audio quality). But as I said above, I’m interested in a mount, for the trails only. Carplay via the screen is fine for directions, music, MLB games, etc.

You guys are literal psychos. Keeping your keys and/or phone in your pocket is one of the most ungodly awful sensations in the entire human experience.

Phone and keys in hand. Walk out to vehicle. Put keys and phone in appropriate place. Drive to work, friend's house, etc. Get out. Grab my stuff and walk in. Immediately put phone and keys on table. At a store, they're in my pocket for the entire time, but immediately back in their appropriate place in my vehicles

I keep my phone in my hip pocket. Always, even when driving. Sometimes Apple Maps can't connect, then I move it to the top of the dashboard where it tends to fall off. I'd like a phone mount for that situation. I also put the phone on a charger when on long trips to keep the battery charged. Then the phone is in a cubby or the passenger seat.

I'd like a dash mount that does these four things. Holds the phone securely, doesn't require me to give up the case my phone is in, doesn't require me to plug it into a cable ie. has MagSafe or holds Apple's, and looks good, not like an after thought. Aigmux comes closest, but they still don't get it. @AIGMUX
TackForm, you are describing their products exactly.

Tackform is pretty solid. That's what I use in the Bronco presently. I'm not 100% happy with it, but it's probably as good as I am going to get.

I made my own setup with parts from Amazon.
Dash rail, ram balls,, support arms, magsafe style magnets.
I use wireless Android Auto, but plug my phone in to charge.
Not a fan of the phone flailing around the interior while off road.

I wear cargo pants 99% of the time, so the key is in an aux cargo pocket... Completely unobtrusive.

This is not necessarily Bronco specific, most everybody that uses a phone holder uses it in the car they had before the bronco it’s just a place to put your phone. There’s no good place to just lay a phone down in the bronco. where do you put your phone while you’re driving? Or 2 phones for 2 front seat passengers. Cup holders are for cups.

To me Tackform looks like all the rest. An afterthought when it comes to how they mount. They're generic, but seem to be high quality.

I may be able to get what I want by combining Tackform's Magsafe mount and AIGmux's base. I'll still have to do some modifying.

Thanks for suggesting Tackform, I really like how they give a lot of details and specifications. Too many companies don't.

edit: What I would like is a mount that attaches to the A-pillar handle the way the AIGmux mount does, with a built in MAGsafe compatible charger with a short loop from the chager to the mount, since no one makes a MAGsafe charger with a short cable, the cable would pass through the mount but without a gaping hole.

I'd love my tackform if it was just a bit closer to the dash. I've thought about modifying it, but haven't bothered to at this point.

I’ve got the OffRoam wireless charging phone mount. I didn’t really like the rails that go up on top of the dash too much it felt cluttered. I’ll admit this isn’t ideal either but there really isn’t a ton of great options. I had to actually modify it from how it comes, I purchased their longest arm and also got a 20mm extension piece to get it far enough over that it doesn’t block the screen. As to why, I just like to have my phone up where I can see it and stay on top of information like dedicated mapping or weather info. All my vehicles have a phone mount so it’s up and out of the way of everything else.

Where else would you put your phone?
I throw my phone on the floor or in the center console. I enjoy my surroundings, so phone calls, texts, teams, zoom, whats app, etc, etc will be ignored until my destination.
