True but if there's will, there's a way.

Intercooler relocation.
Radar relocation.
Parking sensor relocation.

All things not in your picture.

Exactly... But where is the actual winch? I can not picture there is room behind the radiator.

I know folks are going to hate it, but the only solution I see is to lose a bunch of approach angle by building a bumper that sticks out more so the winch can be put lower. Of course the end result may be the same with blocking the camera.

Jeeps come with front cameras in their grills and come with front bumpers that hold winches and come with turbos...so how do they do it? ( Or does it block their camera as well?)

I'm dumbfounded every time this topic comes up on how Ford could have missed this critical off road feature so bad.

The bronco bumper is super tucked/close to the front. Jeep bumpers stick out further.

Looking at the bronco, I think either a spacer to push out the front bumper and or some kind of plate setup running between the frame horns is possible. even if it is a 4pnt setup that goes down to the lower front plate...just how much clearance do you need and how much can you get is the 10k question.

So I'm curious what kind of situations you're getting into where a winch has saved you?
Sounds like you barely or never Rock Crawl and/or never do anything very extreme. In those cases, you can get away without a winch.
But when your 4wheeling consists of stuff like below. you need a winch.

To put the size of the rocks into perspective, those are 37" tires

Ford,: Here are some great camera's to allow you to do extreme 4 wheeling.

Also Ford: these cameras are so good, you should never get stuck, so you don't need a winch

Ford Again: For the models without cameras here is a winch, you will need this because you didn't buy our cameras

🤣

I wouldn't do this trail without a winch... that would be bad judgement. If a trail requires a winch, make sure you have one, or don't run it.

In my view, if a winch is "saving you" repeatedly, then you are exercising bad judgement and should probably know better.

My main point is, know your vehicles capabilities and don't exceed them... whether you have a winch or not.

And just because you don't have a winch, doesn't mean you can't rock crawl or do hard-core off-roading. As you may know, rocks come in different sizes. :)

Or you are one of the people that push themselves and their vehicles limit for the fun of it.

It has nothing to do with Bad Judgement.

Yes you can rock crawl , but trails that do not require a winch are not hard Core.

Doing hard core off-roading without proper recovery gear is Bad Judgement

I agree that proper recovery gear is important.

I disagree that hard core off-roading requires a winch.

I think my short term solution is to get a front hitch receiver mounted under or on an aftermarket bumper. I don't really see a mounting place on the stock modular bumper. Then I can at least use a solution like this:

Thats a pain in its own way.. Winches aren't light and now you have to transport it in the cargo area when not in use. Better than nothing for the time being. Hopefully there are aftermarket front bumpers that have solved these issues before the masses get the Bronco.

The one benefit of using as winch on a receiver is the fact you can move it front or rear (assuming you run the appropriate wiring yourself to the rear).

I think this has a lot of merit...
- Sometimes going back is a lot more prudent than going forward
- No issues with camera or cruise control
- No heavy weight on the front bumper 99.99% of the time

Cons:
- Doesn’t extend your penis as much as a bumper mounted winch :)

I’d still like to see how the race truck did it
You'd think this place would have enough spies to crawl under the race truck and find out.
