If you have never cleaned the window it has crap on it from the manufacturer ing process. Putting rain x on after a good clean will help get rid of that. My 2020 explorer did the same thing intermittently and we were never able to get rid of it.thanks. I will give that a try. I’m not aware of anything on my windshield though as it has about 1000 km on the vehicle but you never know.
That’s kind of a personal questionDid you wax it?
I had never thought about clay bar on glass before...have you tried it? Other than cleaning spots or 'crud' off the glass, why else would I need to do this?Clay bar the glass.
Clay on glass cleans the contaminates that glass cleaners can't remove. Just like paint, glass has tiny pores that trap crap. After the clay cleaning follow it with a ceramic coating. On newer glass a good clay cleaning should do it. On older glass it may require a machine buff with compound.I had never thought about clay bar on glass before...have you tried it? I will try it. I am going to clay the whole Bronco soon, so doing the windshield as well won't be a big deal. Thanks!Clay on glass cleans the contaminates that glass cleaners can't remove. Interesting idea. Thanks!Clay bar the glass.
I have done it to every brand of new vehicle from domestics to high end imports. They have all benefitted from a deep cleaning. The domestic it is usually the rail dust and iron particles that create the issues.Interesting idea. Thanks!
I still find it odd that I'd have to do this on a brand new vehicle though. I might just take it to Ford and ask them to figure it out, lol.
Do you do the wiper blades too, or just the windshield?I have done it to every brand of new vehicle from domestics to high end imports. They have all benefitted from a deep cleaning. The domestic it is usually the rail dust and iron particles that create the issues.
Clean the blades with alcohol. If that doesn't do it trash them and get a quality beam style silicone blade.Do you do the wiper blades too, or just the windshield?
Oh now you come crawling back to freedom units. Can someone confirm they are 17" on both sides?
Thanks!
Even we measure wiper blades in inches, but you're right... My bad.Oh now you come crawling back to freedom units.
Yes, 17 freedom units on both sides. This morning I ran my hand on the wiper blades, and definitely feels like something is on parts of the blade. I'm just going to replace them - Can someone confirm they are 17" on both sides? I don't have a measuring tape with me and was going to pick them up on the way home.
Thanks!
