We've all seen the World Premier video but advertising literature aside, how race-ready would a stock Bronco be? If you were to race in something like the Baja 1000, which trim would you pick and why?

While I am mostly getting the bronco to be used as an overland rig, there is a part of me that would love to get a two door with a large engine, drop some weight and go flying across the desert

There’s nothing with Sending it in your Bronco . This is what Ford wants you do anyways .

A stock Bronco is not a race vehicle by any stretch. The Baja-1000 has a 34 hour time limit across all classes. That is a 30 mph average for 1000 miles. A stock rig would never make it.

If you're going to do something like this then Wildtrak is probably the way to go. It doesn't have any of the extra weight that the Badlands has from skid plates, steel bumpers, and swaybar disconnect, but it has Baja mode.

This is the only scenario I would pick a Wildtrak over a Badlands, but that is just my opinion.

Wildtrak is the closest you will get without changing or making any upgrades.
What no Warthog :sneaky: But yes the Wildtrak is your high-speed desert runner, not my thing

I originally reserved a Wildtrak so I could quickly get my kiddo to his soccer practice on time... but since then I'm leaning toward the Badlands because if we are late, I may have to find alternate parking on various terrain.

Didnt Ford say there were "open" to the idea of selling the Bronco R to people? That would be your best bet. It will cost a pretty penny im sure and even then the R didn't finish. Thats not to say that it can't be done, it just hasn't been done.
