At the Mecum auction in Chicago this Bronco owner got a bid for $85,000 and turned it down. What would you do?

I did not join this shit show to give up my ride once I have it hand. I am going to keep her.

No chance for $85k. I was thinking the other day what it would take for me to sell my yet to be built Baldands/Sas/Lux...and It cam down to $105k. If the dealer wants to buy it when I go to pick it up...and I can flip it for a profit that is enough to almost buy another one, I'll take it. For $85k? No way....

My badlands is over 62k+ tax = ~66k. Similar to the FE. Sellers fee at Mecum is 5%, so it would only be a profit of ~14k. Probably not. 100k might have me thinking.

well, lets do the math. This is a FE, and he did special paint - so;
the MSRP was likely 60, the paint another 3, sales tax 4, plus freight to the auction for a total of 68, well then maybe I would turn down that offer as well. There is much short term price speculation going on, but I think we all agree that mid- to long-term, the Bronco will become a commodity subject to the usual oversupply caused by the desire to absorb manufacturing fixed cost.
Let's not forget the 12-15% vig that Mecum will take. When it's all said and done, he was likely close to a wash at $85k - as insane as that sounds...

I have a 7/15 7am reservation sitting at the dealer with a priority 99 code that I never built out and a reservation that is being build the week of Jan 3, 2022. Hmm maybe I should order a second one or offer a skip the line Bronco and build out one to someone's liking. What do you think the appropriate markup should be?

Who wouldn’t? I’d even throw in a free case of beer and large pineapple pizza.

Your getting the same build as me. I have Carbonized grey. I get to pick it up in November. I'm not sure after all the fees and taxes how much would go in my pocket but if it was $25,000 or more I would sell it get back in line.

I don't believe I have admitted this on the forum yet but I sold my First Edition for $95k. That helped me pay for my Badlands which is now in my driveway and the actual build I wanted anyway - MGV, washout floors.

I'm sure that will get hate from some on the forum but oh well.
