THERE ARE “A TON MORE” FORD BRONCOS ON THE WAY
The Three Newest Trims Are Just The Beginning
by Zac Quinn April 27, 2023, 4:30 pm

Ford Bronco "A Ton More" Bronco Trims/Variants Coming Says Ford 2022-Ford-Bronco-Raptor_11

After the launch of the newest generation of the Ford Bronco, we’ve seen a ton of excitement surrounding the off-road-focused SUV. As sales continue to increase as the company irons out the wrinkles, there’s plenty of reason to get excited. With the arrival of the Everglades and Raptor trims and even the Heritage Edition, we’ve seen a Bronco trim to fit anyone’s lifestyle or plans for the SUV. But it turns out that this is just the beginning.

More Ford Bronco Trims On The Way: Details
“Derivatives are an opportunity, when you have something like a winning product like Bronco, to actually extend into new and different spaces, right, going after different customers. So there’s three examples on the screen here with Everglades, the Raptor and Heritage, all distinctly going after different customers. This is just the start. We have a ton more coming. And on Bronco, we’re never going to let the foot off the throttle pedal. We have a ton of opportunity in different spaces to speak to different customers.,” said Jim Baumbick, Ford’s vice president of product development operations and quality, while speaking at the 2023 Bank of America Global Automotive Summit.

“On Bronco, we’re never going to let the foot off the throttle pedal. We have a ton of opportunities in different spaces to speak to different customers. And I can tell you with perfect certainty if you look at something like a Bronco Raptor customer versus a Heritage customer, they’re very different. And for some customers, it’s a bit of a rustle. They want both. So this is a really incredible opportunity for us to leverage.” Baumbick stated.

Baumbick couldn’t be more right; just based on what we’ve seen, there’s a massive demand for the Ford Bronco, its sales are shooting to overtake that of the Jeep Wrangler, and with the addition of more trims for customers, as time goes on, offering more variants of the rock crawler at various price points, that success will only continue.

With gas prices being as unpredictable as they are, there are bound to be many fans that are conscious about fuel economy. The Jeep Wrangler has its 4xe, which has been successful, so we can see a Ford Bronco hybrid following suit. That said, Baumbick mentioned that customers want a combination between the Heritage and the Raptor, which would be interesting. Perhaps a Raptor with the design queues of the Heritage? Though it’s unclear what we will see reach the market in the future, one thing is sure; this is just the beginning of the different flavors of the Bronco lineup. But before we start counting those chickens before they hatch, hopefully Ford can sort out its Bronco production kinks, and bring back the Everglades.

This is great news! Now they can piss off all the people they didn't reach back in 2020. Until they get to the point of order to delivery in 10 weeks or less AND cut off the ordering system once supplier capacity limits are reached, we'll continue reliving this nightmare. Lightning, Maverick and Mach-E, 'nuff said.

Couldn't agree with more. Before you start building a "ton" on new variants how about fulfilling the orders of the people that have been waiting for 2 years.

Enough with the special packages and electronic doodads and unnecessary bling!

How about just producing 3 or 4 models, with more a la carte optioning for those who want a capable off-roader that’s mechanically sound and not reliant on a computer chip that can leave you dead in the water? And then deliver them on time and built correctly? And require dealers to honor MSRP?

Is that just too much to ask?

And who in the hell is asking for a Raptor with Heritage styling? What kind of people is Ford talking to???

Likely going to be some electric additions is what I would assume. Idk how much different they can get from what is already offered.
I get the whole "power your house", but I like the idea (thinking about Rivian), of having a big battery, in a remote location. It sure makes a lot of things easier.

Way too much logic involved! Ford hates the L-word.

I have thought about this a few times…and im not so sure that a battery is better then gasoline. For offroad/camping. The only reason is because a lack of power stations in those areas and EV has proven to be inconsistent with remaining miles left on the charge. Have seen cases where up to the trail head it will say 200miles left. And 20min into your uphill offroad climb it shows 60miles left. Um 😐…make it make sense.

Im all for EV. Love the idea of advancements in technology. Im not a grease monkey (were gas is king no matter what lol). Like big cities and suburbs…EV is amazing. Long road trips on highway/real roads…EV does great too. But offroad has proven to be difficult for EV adoption. I feel safer with extra gas and/or a external battery of sorts. Like the ones that Anker makes. Possibly in the future as we grow EV tech. Just my thoughts.

Hybrid/electric are a given. A long time ago ford once produce a lightning bronco concept, maybe they bring that back?

I would imagine a heritage raptor would be an Ollie inspired raptor bronco, a fast 2-door like the special race bRonco or the Saleen variant that never came out

As for what else they could do? A fullsize variant based upon the f-150 would be cool, I could also imagine a high-end Lincoln esque bronco.

As someone who is still waiting on the Heritage Edition to be actually built since being "released" last August, why don't we concentrate on making what already promised. Coming up on three years since the reservations opened up and there are still some of us waiting!

Interesting to see what they do. My FE is perfect for me and I like it more every day. Raptors are a bit too large (but I like the interior on them).

When I'm ready to retire my FE, I'd be in the market for a hybrid version.

I've always been a fan of Jeep and a 392 will likely be my forever Jeep toy, but I'm sold on my Bronco as a DD. It's everything I could ask for other than gas mileage. I only have a short drive to work and performance on winter roads is more important to me though, so eh on the gas mileage, it's fine.

If I could have a hybrid platform on a FE, I'd want that thing to last forever because I'd never want to give it up.

Whatever they do, Ford, if you're reading this, get some focus groups together from places like this forum. We may not be what all customers want, but a lot of people here could throw out some good opinions (and help throw out some awful ideas, like for example Stella putting red seats only in the 24 392).
