This is a stupid question. But as a canuck with 0 experience in picatinny... How the hell do I mount stuff to this? I see yall posting balls and such but I can't wrap my head around how they'd attach.
Stoked I got one of these but truly have no idea what to do with it lol
No experience here either, but I spent hours over the weekend trying to figure out a MagSafe mount for my iPhone. All my parts came in so I was able to connect them all, but keep in mind I’m not sticking with this exact setup because I didn’t realize the arm I bought was so heavy. Instead, I ordered a lighter weight arm and new ball adapters. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think earlier in this thread it was mentioned that Picatinny mounts will work with the smooth rail. The difference is mainly looks. The same here. Ordered the smooth, but I have no idea what to buy and how to mount
This attaches to the BYOD rail. It’s called a Picatinny rail mount to 1/4-20” camera tripod mount adapter…
This attaches to the Picatinny tripod mount adapter. It’s called a ball adapter with 1/4-20” female threaded hole. The ball here is 1”, but I’m changing to a 20mm ball for the new arm I bought…
This is a RAM Mounts long arm (about 6”) and attaches to the ball adapter. I think it’s too heavy. Weighs over 9 oz. I’m changing this out for a TackForm telescoping arm that weighs a little over 5 oz…
This is a 25mm to 17mm ball adapter and attaches to the arm. I’m also changing this out to a 20mm to 17mm ball adapter because of the new arm. I’m converting down to 17mm because the MagSafe charger I’m using has a 17mm opening …
And finally this is the Belkin MagSafe charger I’m using as my phone holder (hasn’t come in yet). It’s supposed to mount to an AC vent, but I’m removing the vent mount and attaching it to the 20mm to 17mm ball adapter…
