for $2k I shouldn't have to use gorilla tape. If they wanted people to have easy access to the wiring connecting, how hard would it have been to make an access panel with 2 threaded bolt holes?

Check this out, might seem like a janky solution, but if they fit it will certainly save the time of fabricating something and would be easy in out. The inside dimension of that opening is 2.5" x 2.5" if I measured correctly. The ID of these table leg end plugs range between 2.49" and 2.64" and are rubber or flexible plastic so should actually be a decent fit. The OD is 3"x 3" so they will hang over just a bit on all four sides. You might need to trim off some of the bottom part of the inside plug, but maybe not even. For $10.00 for two it will be one of the cheapest fixes I have purchased so even if they don't work it is little loss

No, but only because they were one size too big, i needed to get the next size down for inner dimension and they would have.
